Stories from the ancient epic Ramayana to come alive through interactive installations and artistic paintings
Ayodhya, May 2026 : A unique initiative is set to begin in Ramnagari Ayodhya to give a new height to tourism and cultural heritage. Under the State Smart City Mission, a Lav-Kush Park will be developed near the Maushivala MRF Centre on the Raebareli highway at a cost of Rs 17.72 crore. The park will be based on the ‘Kachre Se Kala’ theme, where ancient stories from the Ramayana will be brought to life through scrap metal sculptures, artistic paintings and interactive installations.
The main objective of the park, being developed by the Municipal Corporation, is to connect environmental protection, sustainable development and cultural preservation together. This project will give a new dimension to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s smart city vision.
Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar said, “The park will mainly focus on the stories of Lord Ram’s sons Lav and Kush. These popular stories from the Ramayana era will be presented through modern art so that the coming generations can connect with ancient history. Under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, this is being seen as an important step towards making Ayodhya a smart city. Infrastructure, cleanliness and tourism facilities are already developing rapidly in Ayodhya, and Lav-Kush Park will further strengthen this development journey.”
The ‘Kachre Se Kala’ theme is the main highlight of this project. Waste and scrap material collected from the city will be used to create grand sculptures, models and installations. Episodes involving Ram and Sita, Lav and Kush, the Ashwamedh Yagna, the period of exile, and other significant events will be depicted in the form of sculptures crafted from scrap metal.
Through interactive installations, tourists will be able to become a part of these stories themselves. For example, the incident of Lav-Kush capturing the horse will be shown through 3D models and sound-light shows.
The park will not only be attractive but also educational. Special tours and workshops will be organised for school and college students to spread awareness about environmental protection and waste management. It will also convey the message that waste is not a burden but a resource.
After religious places like Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan, Lav-Kush Park will become a new attraction for tourists in Ayodhya. Devotees connected to Ramayana stories will not only get a spiritual experience here but will also witness environment-friendly development. The park will have modern facilities including walkways, gardens, seating arrangements, lighting and security.
This project will emerge as a unique blend of public art, culture and sustainable development. At a time when the problem of plastic and waste is increasing, the message of ‘Kachre Se Kala’ from a holy city like Ayodhya will inspire the entire country.
Experts believe that such parks not only boost tourism but also strengthen the local economy. According to the Municipal Corporation, construction work will begin soon. The entire park will be built using environment-friendly materials. The design combines the traditional style of the Ramayana with modern technology.
Lav-Kush Park will make Ayodhya not only a religious city but also a symbol of cultural and environmental excellence. It will become a new centre for Ram devotees, tourists, artists and environmental lovers, showcasing the magic of ‘Kachre Se Kala’ while adding to the dignity of Lord Ram’s city.
