erforms Deepdan and Maha Aarti at Hamerpal Lake in Rajsamand
Jaipur, May 2026 : The historic Hamerpal Lake located in Taladri village of Kumbhalgarh area in Rajsamand district witnessed a remarkable confluence of faith, devotion, and culture on Wednesday evening, when Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa participated in a deepdan (offering of lamps), prayer rituals, and Maha Aarti under the Vande Ganga (water conservation public campaign).
The atmosphere turned deeply devotional and divine with the glow of hundreds of lamps, echoing devotional songs, and chants of “Ganga Maiya Ki Jai.” The large participation of villagers, women, and youth transformed the event into a grand celebration of public faith.
Before the main programme, the Deputy Chief Minister visited the Shri Lakshminarayan Temple located near Hamerpal Lake and offered prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and good rainfall in the state. Devotees warmly welcomed him, and local women added spiritual vibrancy to the event with traditional songs and devotional hymns.
He stated that in Rajasthan’s culture, water is not just a resource but the foundation of life and faith. Ancient communities preserved wells, stepwells, ponds, and water bodies as sacred assets, and this tradition continues to connect society with nature. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Vande Ganga campaign is actively transforming water conservation into a mass public movement across the state. Over the past two years, several initiatives have been undertaken to protect, revive, and raise awareness about water sources.
He emphasized that every individual must take a pledge to conserve water to ensure a secure future for coming generations. Old wells, stepwells, ponds, and traditional water structures are part of cultural heritage and their preservation is a collective responsibility. He also stressed the importance of large-scale tree plantation along with water conservation, stating that trees and water together maintain ecological balance. He added that sustainable change is possible only when society actively participates in such campaigns.
The Deputy Chief Minister further said that the Vande Ganga campaign has become more than a government initiative; it has evolved into a people-driven social movement. Across the state, citizens, youth, women, and various social organisations are actively participating. He urged villagers to make water conservation a part of their daily life and to spread awareness among future generations.
