MP Creates History, Tops Nation in Citizen Feedback
Madhya Pradesh has scripted another golden chapter in the field of sanitation under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, translating Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Swachh Bharat’ into reality. In the nationwide Citizen Feedback Campaign conducted under Swachh Survekshan 2025-26, Madhya Pradesh secured first place among all States and Union Territories, based on parameters derived from the 2011 Census.
More than 3.569 million citizens from across the state participated through online platforms, demonstrating not only their commitment to cleanliness but also the growing digital awareness and technological engagement of the people of Madhya Pradesh in the era of Digital India.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya congratulated the citizens of the state and the dedicated Safai Mitras on this historic achievement. He said that Madhya Pradesh continues to scale new heights in sanitation due to the combined efforts of aware citizens and the unwavering commitment of the department’s field staff.
At the state level, the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 team implemented a unique 360-degree strategy this year. Under this comprehensive action plan, outreach was established with more than 6 million people through the social media platforms of urban local bodies. In addition, extensive awareness campaigns were conducted through both traditional and modern communication channels, including garbage collection vehicles, newspapers, radio, television, audio-visual messages, and door-to-door outreach initiatives, ensuring participation from every section of society.
To facilitate and expand digital participation, more than 10 million targeted SMS messages were sent across the state. Support from social media influencers was also leveraged, generating exceptional enthusiasm among young citizens.
The impact of these extensive efforts has been clearly visible on the ground. In particular, residents of the state capital, Bhopal, displayed remarkable enthusiasm this year. While only 5,130 citizens from Bhopal had submitted feedback last year, the number has surged to more than 386,000 this year.
According to departmental officials, teams of the Swachh Bharat Mission are actively working at the grassroots level to further accelerate this momentum and ensure that Madhya Pradesh continues to remain among the top-performing states in cleanliness rankings.
The State Government and the Urban Development Department have appealed to all citizens to continue their active participation in maintaining their cities at the highest standards of cleanliness. Citizens can submit their valuable online feedback by visiting the official portal of the Union Ministry https://cf.sbmurban.org/survey or by scanning the designated QR code.
