Villages have gained a new identity under the Yogi govt, Gram Secretariats established in 57,694 Panchayats across the state

24,311 Panchayat buildings constructed over the last 5 years, strengthening rural administration

State-level call centre and online attendance system implemented

Lucknow, June 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed significant transformation in strengthening rural development and good governance. Gram Secretariats have been established in all 57,694 Gram Panchayats of the state, ensuring that government services are made available to rural residents within their own villages. Alongside this, 24,311 Panchayat Buildings have been constructed over the last 5 years, equipping Panchayats with modern facilities.

With the establishment of Gram Secretariats, villagers no longer have to make repeated visits to tehsil and block headquarters to avail themselves of services such as income, caste and residence certificates, information regarding pension schemes, MGNREGA-related services, birth and death registration, and benefits under various government schemes. This has resulted in savings of both time and money.

Over the last 5 years, 24,311 Panchayat Buildings have been constructed. Facilities such as furniture, computers, internet connectivity, drinking water and sanitation arrangements have been provided in the Gram Secretariats. Panchayat Assistants and Data Entry Operators have been deployed in every Gram Panchayat. A total of 1,875 registered architects and consulting engineers (civil) have been empanelled.

The department informed that Geo Fenced and QR Code Technique has been implemented to facilitate payment of all funds sent to Gram Panchayats through computers installed at Gram Secretariats. Through this portal, transparency and accountability in the expenditure of funds have been ensured. Expenditure monitoring is being carried out using AI models.

A State-Level Call Centre and an Online Attendance System have also been implemented to ensure prompt grievance redressal and effective communication.

The Panchayat Buildings constructed by the state government are emerging as new centres of rural administration. These buildings have been equipped with the necessary facilities for Panchayat meetings, public hearings, digital services and monitoring of development schemes. The construction of Panchayat Buildings has provided Gram Panchayats with permanent office spaces, resulting in greater transparency and accountability in administrative functioning.

This extensive network of Gram Secretariats and Panchayat Buildings is proving to be an important step towards accelerating good governance in rural areas and making villages self-reliant. It has ensured the effective implementation of rural development schemes and improved access to government services for the common people.

This achievement in the field of rural development is being regarded as a significant milestone in the journey towards making the villages of Uttar Pradesh empowered, digital and self-reliant.
