Satellite Township Projects Will Promote Urbanisation, Economic Development and Employment Opportunities: Chief Minister

Patna, June 2026: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary chaired a high-level review meeting at the Sankalp Hall of Lok Seva Bhavan to assess the progress of eleven satellite township projects.

During the meeting, Vinay Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, gave a detailed presentation on the locations of the 11 townships, land availability for each satellite town, the current status of infrastructure development, and the future action plan.

While reviewing the projects, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that the township development programme, which is a significant initiative, is implemented on a priority basis and completed within the stipulated timeframe. He emphasized that the project is crucial for the state’s urbanisation, economic growth, employment generation, and provision of improved residential facilities.

He instructed officials to promptly resolve obstacles related to land acquisition, approvals, and other administrative procedures and to ensure regular monitoring of work according to prescribed timelines. He also directed various departments to strengthen coordination and accelerate project execution.

The Chief Minister stated that the completion of all 11 satellite township projects would provide a new impetus to planned urban development in the state, create employment opportunities, and offer citizens better amenities in line with modern living standards.

The meeting was attended by Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitish Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner Mihir Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh, Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, Secretary of the Civil Aviation Department and Managing Director of the Bihar State Housing Board, along with other senior officials.
