Fish Farmers Get a New Boost as Chief Minister Distributes Modern Equipment to Strengthen Livelihoods

“Motorcycles, Ice Boxes and Fishing Nets Will Boost Business and Increase Incomes”

Raipur, June 2026 : As part of the Sushasan Tihar initiative, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday attended a Samadhan Shivir (solution camp) organised at Badekanera Gram Panchayat in Kondagaon district. During the event, the Fisheries Department distributed various modern tools and equipment to fish farmers and beneficiaries associated with the fisheries sector to support livelihood enhancement and income generation.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Sai handed over motorcycles and ice boxes to Kamal Singh Netam of Malakot village and Narendra Kashyap of Joba village. These resources will enable the beneficiaries to transport fish safely to distant markets, providing a significant boost to their businesses.

The beneficiaries said that they had previously faced considerable difficulties in transporting and preserving fish. With the availability of ice boxes, the quality and freshness of fish can now be maintained for a longer period, helping them secure better prices in the market. The motorcycles will make transportation easier while reducing both travel time and operational costs.

Modern Fishing Nets to Enhance Production

During the programme, modern fishing nets were distributed to Lalit Baghel and Ramlal Netam of Badekanera village. The beneficiaries stated that the new nets would help increase fish production and make their businesses more organised, efficient, and profitable.

Initiative to Strengthen the Rural Economy

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the state government is continuously working to strengthen the rural economy by connecting traditional occupations with modern resources and technology.

He noted that fisheries have emerged as an important source of income in rural areas and reiterated the government’s commitment to providing necessary support and facilities to people engaged in the sector.

The Chief Minister said that the objective of government welfare schemes is not merely to provide assistance but to make people self-reliant and bring lasting improvements in their income levels and overall quality of life.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the Fisheries Department for the support provided. They said that the assistance would play a crucial role in expanding their businesses and improving their economic conditions.

They also expressed confidence that with the help of modern equipment and resources, they would be able to take their fisheries enterprises to new heights and achieve greater financial stability in the future.
