The Empowering Impact of Financial Support on Women Beneficiaries
Udgir (Latur) : The state government is actively implementing several schemes aimed at empowering women. Initiatives such as the Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, which provides economic support to women, the Lakhpati Didi Yojana for encouraging women entrepreneurs, free vocational education for girls, and the Lek Ladki Yojana are contributing significantly to women’s empowerment. The presence of President Draupadi Murmu at the event added to the celebratory atmosphere, and many women expressed feelings of financial independence thanks to these schemes.
Women who have benefited from these programs report increased confidence and self-reliance. Many others are now seeking to take advantage of these schemes to achieve self-empowerment. The joy of managing their own finances was evident among the women, reflecting their newfound financial autonomy.
During the event, in the presence of President Draupadi Murmu, the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana and other schemes were visibly joyful. Mrs. Reshma Yunus Atar (Rest. Kumta Khut, Udgir) lives on rent in Ban Shelki Road, Udgir, with her three children and husband, who is a dyer with irregular work. Managing rent, school fees, and household expenses has been challenging. After applying for the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, she received ₹3,000 on August 15. This amount was used to pay overdue school fees for her children. The monthly ₹1,500 support, though modest, has been a significant aid to her household expenses. She hopes the scheme continues to assist other women in similar situations and thanked the government for initiating it.
Financial Support for Families
35-year-old Manisha Waghmare from Vaigaon in Udgir taluka, who lives with her parents, also benefited from the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. The ₹3,000 received in August has been a crucial financial aid for her family, particularly for medical expenses. She expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister for this support.
Educational Benefits
The funds from the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana were used to pay two months’ fees for a child’s schooling, enabling the child to attend school regularly. Mrs. Neeta Balaji Dake from Dhamangaon (Dt. Shirur Anantapal) suggested that the state government should consider starting more schools to support children’s education.
Empowering Self-Help Groups
Amrapali Sonkamble from Sullali village, Jalkot taluka, who works with the Samata Gram Sangh self-help group, received financial support for buffaloes and related businesses through the group’s underprivileged fund. This support has helped her become self-sufficient. She expressed her gratitude towards the government for this assistance.

On August 15, ₹3,000 was deposited into the account under the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Beneficiaries from Loni MIDC, Udgir, including Mrs. Sheikh Maulan Kazi, Mrs. Sophia B Magdoom Sheikh, Mrs. Shabana Sheikh Mustafa, Mrs. Irfanabi Sheikh, Mrs. Rabana Sheikh Hidayat, and Mrs. Sangeeta, shared their happiness with this financial support. They noted that this assistance has allowed them to manage their household expenses and children’s education without relying on their husbands. They attended the celebration to thank the Chief Minister and expressed their desire for the continuation of the scheme.
