Solid arrangements for paddy procurement should be ensured in the upcoming Kharif season: Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel

The state government has started preparations for purchasing paddy at the support price in the upcoming Kharif season. Food Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel has asked the officials of the Food Department to start preparations to make all the necessary arrangements for purchasing paddy. He said that instructions have been given to arrange for gunny bags for purchasing paddy at the support price, internet connection in paddy purchase, to repair computers and weighing equipment. He was reviewing the work by holding a meeting of officials in the meeting hall of the Food and Civil Supplies Corporation located in Nava Raipur today.

Food Minister Mr. Baghel said in the meeting that during the purchase of paddy at the support price, there should be no complaint from the farmers that more paddy is being taken from them. Therefore, the measuring equipment of paddy purchasing centers should be repaired. Taking seriously the complaints coming in the distribution of ration cards, he expressed displeasure at the officials. He said in strong words that the process of proper verification of those ration cards which have not been renewed should be completed soon.

Food Minister Mr. Baghel asked the weights and measures officials to continuously inspect all the ration shops of the state and investigate the complaints regarding giving less food grains in the ration shops or weights and resolve them immediately. While reviewing the works of Warehouse Corporation, he said that the Warehouse Corporation officials are responsible for the quality and weight of the food grains stored in the godowns. If there is any deficiency in the quality and weight of the stored material or any kind of negligence, then the concerned officials will be responsible. He directed the district managers of the Civil Supplies Corporation for timely storage.

Senior officials of the Food Department along with officials of Warehouse Corporation, Weights and Measures Branch, Civil Supplies Corporation, Food Branch and District Marketing were present in the meeting.
