Fully-equipped and air-conditioned interstate bus terminal coming up on the lines of Indore airport will start in December – Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the facilities of the fully equipped, air-conditioned and largest Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) of Madhya Pradesh, which is coming up on the lines of the airport in Indore’s Kumedi, will be available to the public from December. This bus terminal will add to the pride of Indore and Madhya Pradesh in the country. The Chief Minister said this during the inspection of the bus terminal here on Saturday. He informed that the Interstate Bus Terminal (ISBT) is being constructed by the Indore Development Authority for Rs 101 crore in the 15-acre area in Kumedi area of Indore. The terminal will be ready by coming December. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government is working rapidly for the integrated development of the state. He said that the bus terminal will also be highly beneficial during Simhasthaas as it will provide the best transportation facilities to the passengers. He appreciated and congratulated the work of public representatives, district administration, and officials of Indore Development Authority associated with the terminal. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also inspected the metro rail station being built in front of the terminal. He also gave instructions to complete the metro work at a fast pace.
Among those present on the occasion were Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silavat, MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, MLA Shri Mahendra Hardia, Shri Madhu Verma, Shri Manoj Patel and Shri Golu Shukla, Divisional Commissioner Shri Deepak Singh, Police Commissioner Shri Rakesh Gupta, Collector Shri Ashish Singh, Chairman of the Scheduled Caste Finance Development Corporation Shri Sawan Sonkar, former Chairman of Indore Development Authority Shri Jaipal Singh Chavda, Shri Gaurav Ranadive, Chief Executive Officer of Indore Development Authority Shri R.P. About 1440 buses will arrive at the newly constructed Interstate Bus Terminal (ISBT) of Indore in 24 hours. The bus terminal will be fully air-conditioned and equipped with all facilities. There will be 14 ticket counters for the convenience of passengers. There will also be a parking facility for about 1000 vehicles. From here buses will go to places like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Sagar etc. A total of 43 bus platforms have been constructed, out of which 28 platforms are earmarked for outgoing buses and 15 for incoming buses. A daily traffic of 80 thousand passengers is expected in the terminal building, in which about 8 thousand people will be able to travel simultaneously even during peak hours. Separate gates have been made for the arrival and departure of passenger buses.
Separate parking arrangements have been made in the ISBT complex for about 600 two-wheelers, 160 taxi cars, 150 auto-rickshaws, and about 50 private cars. Apart from this, there is also a parking arrangement for about 315 four-wheelers in the basement. Two Sulabh Shauchalayas have also been constructed at the parking lot.Special facilities ensured for passengers
The terminal building has seating arrangements for 500 passengers and a VIP lounge similar to the airport has also been constructed. The ticket counter, inquiry office, police post, medical room, and clock room have been arranged in the terminal block. The entire terminal building will have an airport-like air cooling system, which is not available in any ISBT in the state. For the convenience of passengers, 16 restaurants, 37 shops, 33 office buildings, and 2 ATMs have also been constructed. ISBT has also been directly connected to the metro station so that metro passengers will be able to reach the bus stand complex directly and bus passengers will be able to reach the metro station directly. To facilitate transportation, 75-meter-wide MR-10 and 30-meter-wide roads on three sides have been built infront of ISBT. Arrangements for recharging rainwater have also been made on the campus.
