Pune, June 2026 : The investigation into the death of 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal, the son of a prominent Pune businessman, has taken a dramatic turn, with police uncovering what they describe as a meticulously planned murder disguised as a trekking accident at Lohagad Fort.

What was initially reported as an accidental fall during a trek has now evolved into a chilling murder case involving Agarwal’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary. Fresh revelations emerging from the probe suggest that the duo had carefully plotted the killing days in advance and identified the fort as the ideal location to execute their plan.

According to investigators, CCTV footage obtained during the inquiry shows Goyal meeting Chaudhary at a café in Pune on June 18, where the two allegedly discussed and finalized the conspiracy. Police believe the meeting was a crucial step in planning Agarwal’s murder and staging it as an accident.

Authorities claim that during the meeting, the accused discussed possible spots at Lohagad Fort from where Agarwal could be pushed without raising immediate suspicion. Later the same day, Goyal reportedly accompanied Agarwal on a trek to the historic hill fort, while Chaudhary is said to have followed the couple discreetly.

Investigators allege that the murder was carried out between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. when Agarwal was pushed into a gorge. Shortly afterward, Goyal informed his family that he had slipped and fallen during the trek. However, evidence gathered during the investigation led police to suspect foul play, eventually uncovering what they describe as a premeditated crime.

The case has attracted significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the victim and the circumstances surrounding the incident. Agarwal and Goyal had become engaged in February this year, and preparations were reportedly underway for a lavish wedding scheduled for November. Family members were planning an extravagant celebration involving luxury venues and private arrangements.

Police have since arrested both Goyal and Chaudhary and charged them with murder and criminal conspiracy. Investigators recently conducted a face-to-face interrogation of the two accused as part of efforts to establish the sequence of events and gather further evidence.

Both suspects have been remanded to seven days of police custody and were questioned late into the night as investigators continued to examine the motive and planning behind the alleged crime.
