Our home is first school of cleanliness: Governor Shri Patel
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that cleanliness begins at home. The first school of cleanliness is our home. Therefore, imparting the values of cleanliness to children has to start from our home itself. Learning from Mahatma Gandhi we must include cleanliness in our daily routine. Governor Shri Patel was addressing the “Swachhta Hi Seva” fortnight program organized at Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium.
The Swachhta Hi Seva Fortnight 2024 and Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras were launched in 50 district hospitals in a program organized at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium with Governor Shri Patel as chief guest Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav presided over.
The Governor and the Chief Minister inaugurated the exhibition on the awards received by Madhya Pradesh in the field of cleanliness. Governor Shri Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav launched a film on ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign in Madhya Pradesh. A short film of the Central Government on the outline of the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign was screened. A short film based on the ‘Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras’ being started in the district hospitals was also screened. Placards were presented to Governor Shri Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav by the Indian Red Cross Society.
The Governor and the Chief Minister honored the Safai Mitras and distributed incentive amount and cleanliness kits. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, and State President and MP Shri V.D. Sharma were present.
Governor Shri Patel congratulated Indore City for leading in cleanliness for 7 consecutive years. He praised the tireless and continuous hard work of the sanitation workers of Indore for this achievement. The Governor congratulated the people of Indore for their habits of cleanliness and enthusiastic participation in cleanliness-related activities.
Jan Aushadhi Kendra, Prime Minister’s special initiative for poor
Governor Shri Patel said that Jan Aushadhi Kendra is a special initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the poor. On the occasion of the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Modi, he congratulated the people of the state on the inauguration of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras in all 50 district hospitals of the state. Governor Shri Patel said that due to minimum prices and quality medicines, these Kendras will benefit the poor. Governor Shri Patel appealed to people to make people aware of generic, affordable medicines and financial savings available at Jan Aushadhi Kendra to the poor and needy around them. He also asked the doctors to inform the patients about the facilities and benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras while treating them.
Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras started in 50 hospitals
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has said that providing facilities to make the lives of people easier is the most memorable gift to Prime Minister Shri Modi. Launching the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in 50 hospitals on his birthday will improve the standard of living of the common man. The state government is also committed to the welfare of Safai Mitras. The work being done for the common man is a birthday gift for Prime Minister Shri Modi.
Garbage-free city star certification to be basis for providing funds to Safai Mitras
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced to provide funds to the Safai Mitras working in the urban bodies as an incentive for their contribution. In the Swachhta Survekshan-2024, funds will be provided to Safai Mitras based on garbage-free city-star certification to the urban bodies. An amount of Rs. 1,000 per star in their ranking will be given to all Safai Mitras working in the urban body, that is, Rs. 1,000 will be given to all Safai Mitras of the urban body with one star. Municipal bodies can get a ranking of up to seven stars.
Providing free housing to homeless is possible only for a visionary like PM Shri Modi
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that on the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Modi, 1 lakh 31 thousand families are having newly constructed houses under the PM Housing Scheme. So far, more than 36 lakh 24 thousand rural families have been provided housing. Similarly, more than 8 lakh 5 thousand brothers and sisters have benefited through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban. Envisioning to provide own housing to such a large number of homeless families making it possible only for a visionary like Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Shri Modi has benefited more than four crore people with their own housing and his resolution is to provide housing to three crore needy people.
“Swabhav Swachhata-Sanskar Swachhata” is basis of Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today 17th September is a day of special importance. Apart from being Vishwakarma Jayanti, today is also the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Modi. From his birthday itself, Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, centreed on the idea of “Swabhav Swachhata-Sanskar Swachhata”, has been launched. Sheetla Mata, mentioned in Indian religious scriptures, is the goddess of cleanliness. In the Indian knowledge tradition, there has been a tradition of instilling the sanskar (values) of good behaviour through religion. The Indian treatment system has provided the formula for the treatment of smallpox and other complex diseases.
More than 300 free medicines are available in government hospitals
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the common man has got a lot of relief from the Jan Aushadhi Kendras started by Prime Minister Shri Modi to provide medicines at affordable rates. More than 300 medicines are being made available free of cost in the government hospitals of the state. CM Dr. Yadav expressed his gratitude to Governor Shri Patel for this initiative. CM Dr. Yadav said that it was on the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Modi that a provision of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh has been made under Ayushman Bharat and now this facility is being extended to all senior citizens as well.
Contribution of Safai Karamcharis commendable
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Safai Karamcharis (sanitation workers) have an important contribution in keeping the general public healthy and protecting people from diseases. We are all grateful to them. He said that Safai Mitras have played a key role in the achievements of the state in maintenance of cleanliness. The importance of the work of Safai Mitras is incomparable. Safai Karamcharis have played an important role even during the Covid period. Also, as a result of their efforts, Bhopal has received the award of the cleanest capital of the country and Indore has received the award of the cleanest city of the country 7 times.
Safai Mitras honoured
Governor Shri Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also honoured Safai Mitras. In this, Safai Mitras of Bhopal Municipal Corporation, Sarvshri Akash Valmiki, Jeevan Lal, Dharam Singh, Rajesh Damle and Sushri Rashmi and Smt. Deep Mala, Smt. Preeti and Sarvshri Nikhlesh, Amit Kumar and Dharmendra Valmiki of rural area were honoured. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla and Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya also addressed the programme. Principal Secretary Shri Neeraj Mandloi presented the outline of the ceremony.
