Agriculture and Farmers Welfare are Governments Highest Priority: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh Government is continuously working to enhance farmers’ incomes, expand irrigation facilities, empower women, create employment opportunities and strengthen infrastructure. He said that agriculture and farmers’ welfare remain the Government’s highest priority. Declaring 2026 as the ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’, the State Government has taken several important decisions in the interest of farmers. Irrigation coverage in the state has now expanded to over 5.5 million hectares, leading to sustained growth in agricultural production.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Kisan Samriddhi Sankalp Sammelan in Kalapipal tehsil of Shajapur district on Thursday. On the occasion, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 12 development projects worth ₹30.86 crore, including the foundation laying of four projects worth ₹1.45 crore and the inauguration of eight projects worth ₹29.40 crore.

Farmers welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a traditional garland and a plough in appreciation of the extension of the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana benefits and the extended repayment period for Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans. Women farmers tied Rakhi on his wrist as a mark of respect. The Chief Minister also distributed benefits to beneficiaries under various government schemes and planted a sapling under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, along with other dignitaries, also participated in a plantation drive at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) premises under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam – Har Bhara Kalapipal’ campaign, which aims to plant 400,000 saplings. Calling upon citizens to actively participate in plantation and ensure the protection of trees, he said public participation is essential for environmental conservation and securing a better future for coming generations. He noted that Kalapipal is setting a new benchmark under the Vriksh Ganga Campaign by pursuing the target of planting four lakh saplings.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the State Government will provide financial incentives to promote natural farming and extend special assistance to cattle rearers to boost milk production. He said that nearly ₹60,000 crore has been transferred directly into the bank accounts of women beneficiaries under the Ladli Behna Yojana so far, empowering them to become financially self-reliant.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that irrigation facilities are being expanded rapidly across the state as part of the Government’s irrigation initiatives. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) Project, the Ken–Betwa River Linking Project and other river-linking initiatives will bring irrigation to millions of hectares of farmland, providing long-term benefits to farmers across several districts, including Shajapur. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to ensuring that Narmada water reaches every village in Shajapur district. The Government is working expeditiously towards this goal. The Chief Minister added that farmers would no longer have to irrigate their fields at night, as the Government is implementing a phased plan to ensure adequate daytime power supply for irrigation.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further announced that farmers will no longer be required to obtain separate crop loans for Kharif and Rabi seasons. Instead, they will receive a single annual crop loan, providing greater financial convenience. He said the Government remains committed to reducing cultivation costs, increasing agricultural productivity and ensuring remunerative prices for farmers’ produce.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the State Government is also creating new employment opportunities through increasing industrial investment, generating jobs in both the public and private sectors. He noted that rapid industrial growth is creating employment opportunities across Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister reiterated that the Government remains committed to developing roads, irrigation, education, healthcare and infrastructure. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that, urging citizens to actively participate in the state’s development, the Government is continuously working for the welfare of farmers, women, youth, the poor and every section of society.

Higher Education, Technical Education and AYUSH Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Shajapur district is progressing rapidly. He said Shajapur is emerging as an educational hub with the establishment of a Medical College, an Ayurvedic College at Shujalpur and several Sandipani Schools, enabling students to access quality education within the district.

Member of Parliament Shri Mahendra Singh Solanki said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, development activities are progressing continuously across the state. He thanked the Chief Minister for the numerous development projects undertaken in the Shajapur Parliamentary constituency. Kalapipal MLA Shri Ghanshyam Chandravanshi and Dr. Ravi Pandey also addressed the gathering.

Development Projects Inaugurated and Bhoomi Poojan Performed

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed Bhoomi Poojan for four projects worth ₹1.45 crore, including construction of five additional classrooms and Biology, Chemistry and Physics laboratories at the Government Higher Secondary School, Bhaisayagarha. Construction of tin sheds in Wards No. 1 and 7, construction of a CC road in Ward No. 4. He also inaugurated projects worth ₹29.40 crore, including ‘Atal Panchayat Bhawans’ in six Gram Panchayats, a community hall at Nandni, a new Primary Health Centre building with staff quarters at Khardaunkalan, bridge works on the Shujalpur–Ashta–Avantipur Barodia Road and the Bhaisayagarha–Pipliya Nagar Road, Khejdiya Stop Dam-cum-Barrage and Three Anganwadi buildings.

The programme was attended by Zila Panchayat President Shri Hemraj Singh Sisodiya, Kalapipal Nagar Parishad President Shri Jaiprakash Agrawal, Shujalpur Municipal Council President Smt. Babita Parmar, former Energy Development Corporation Chairman Shri Vijendra Singh Sisodiya, former MLA Shri Jaswant Singh Hada, renowned spiritual leaders, Divisional Commissioner Shri Ashish Singh, ADG Shri Rakesh Gupta, DIG Shri Navneet Bhasin, Collector Sushri Riju Bafna, Superintendent of Police Smt. Priyanka Shukla, public representatives and a large number of citizens.

Chief Minister Receives Enthusiastic Welcome During Roadshow

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav greeted citizens during a roadshow in Kalapipal on Thursday. Residents accorded him a grand welcome at various locations along the route. The roadshow commenced from the Nayara Petrol Pump and concluded at the conference venue. Social, religious and trade organisations, along with local residents, welcomed the Chief Minister with bouquets, floral garlands and traditional turbans amid music, cheers and enthusiastic public participation.
