IRGC Claims Strikes on US-Linked Targets in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain as Regional Tensions Escalate

Tehran, July 2026 : Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Saturday claimed to have launched a fresh wave of missile and drone attacks targeting US military assets and strategic facilities in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, as the conflict between Iran and the United States continued to intensify across the Middle East.

According to Iran’s state-affiliated news agency Sepah, the IRGC’s Aerospace Force carried out a coordinated strike on the US military base at Al-Azraq in Jordan, targeting aircraft shelters and a large parking area used by American forces. The report claimed that the operation destroyed at least two fighter jets and three other US military aircraft, while causing significant damage to additional equipment through simultaneous missile and drone attacks. The claims have not been independently verified.

In a separate statement, the IRGC said its naval forces conducted overnight attacks on Friday against the US fleet’s fuel supply dock at Bandar Al-Ahmadi in Kuwait and the Sheikh Isa military facility in Bahrain, which it described as a location used for military aircraft operations. The Iranian military further claimed that its strikes destroyed an intelligence data centre in Bahrain identified as Batelco, along with a US communications and signal intelligence facility in Kuwait.

The latest claims came hours after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces had completed the seventh consecutive night of military operations targeting Iranian assets.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, CENTCOM said its forces concluded operations on July 17 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time, striking surveillance installations, underground weapons storage sites, military logistics infrastructure and maritime capabilities across Iran. The operations involved a combination of fighter aircraft, naval warships, aerial drones and other military assets.

Iranian state media reported that the latest US strikes resulted in the deaths of three people, while eight others sustained injuries. The reports did not provide further details on the identities of the victims or the locations where the casualties occurred.

Meanwhile, regional governments reported defensive actions against the escalating attacks. Local media in Jordan said the country’s air defence systems intercepted and shot down several Iranian missiles. Bahrain also reported intercepting multiple aerial threats, while Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that an Iranian strike had triggered a fire at a power generation and water desalination plant, causing damage before emergency teams brought the blaze under control.

The exchange of attacks marks another sharp escalation in regional hostilities, raising concerns about the possibility of a broader conflict involving multiple countries in the Gulf. While both Iran and the United States continue to exchange military strikes, regional governments remain on high alert as diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation face growing challenges.
