‘Matruchhaya’ Giving Abandoned Children a New Life and Loving Families: Minister Lakshmi Rajwade

Raipur, July 2026 : Chhattisgarh Minister for Women and Child Development and Social Welfare, Lakshmi Rajwade, attended the 20th Foundation Day celebrations of Matruchhaya, a child care institution run by Seva Bharati at Kota in Raipur. On the occasion, she praised the organisation for its dedicated efforts in the protection, care, upbringing, education, and holistic development of newborn, abandoned, and destitute children, describing it as an outstanding example of compassion and selfless service.

Interacting warmly with the children, Minister Rajwade said that Matruchhaya is performing a remarkable service by providing abandoned children with a safe shelter, parental care, affection, and an opportunity for a better future. She noted that, in addition to nurturing the children, the institution also facilitates their legal adoption by childless couples through the prescribed legal process, enabling them to become part of loving families.

The Minister further highlighted the significant role played by Seva Bharati in tracing missing children and reuniting them with their families, calling it an important humanitarian initiative that has brought hope to many families.

She said that the organisation’s volunteers, who work with the spirit of “Service to Humanity is Service to God,” are a source of inspiration for society. Their unwavering commitment to caring for vulnerable children reflects the values of compassion, responsibility, and social service, she added.

Congratulating the Matruchhaya family on completing two decades of dedicated service, Minister Rajwade extended her best wishes on the institution’s Foundation Day and expressed hope that its humanitarian efforts would continue to expand, bringing hope and happiness to many more children in need.
