Dev Anand’s Son Suneil Anand Passes Away at 70 After Heart Attack in London
Mumbai, July 2026 : Actor Suneil Anand, son of legendary Bollywood icon Dev Anand, passed away at the age of 70 in the United Kingdom after suffering a cardiac arrest while travelling from the United States to India. He had stopped over in London when he suffered the fatal heart attack.
According to reports, Suneil Anand was immediately rushed to a hospital after experiencing a cardiac emergency. Following medical evaluation, doctors decided to perform a stent procedure to treat his condition. However, before the surgery could be carried out, he suffered another heart attack. Despite repeated attempts by the medical team to revive him, Suneil Anand could not be saved.
Interestingly, he passed away at the same hospital in London where his father, Dev Anand, had breathed his last several years ago.
Suneil Anand entered the film industry with the 1984 movie “Anand Aur Anand”, which was directed by Dev Anand. The film marked his debut as an actor and featured him in a leading role. He later appeared in movies such as “Car Thief,” “Main Tere Liye” and “Master.”
However, unlike his father, Suneil Anand could not achieve a long and successful career in Hindi cinema. After a brief stint in films, he gradually moved away from the limelight and chose to maintain a private lifestyle. Despite his limited presence on screen, he remained connected to the rich cinematic legacy of the Anand family.
Dev Anand remains one of the most celebrated and influential figures in the history of Indian cinema. Known for his charismatic personality, distinctive dialogue delivery and evergreen charm, he became one of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars during the 1950s and 1960s.
The veteran actor co-founded Navketan Films, a production house that delivered several memorable films and provided opportunities to emerging talents in the industry. His unique style, trademark mannerisms, youthful appearance and fashionable persona made him a cultural icon and inspired generations of actors and audiences.
Dev Anand was honoured with prestigious awards, including the Padma Bhushan and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, recognising his immense contribution to Indian cinema. Suneil Anand’s passing marks the loss of another member of one of Bollywood’s most iconic film families.
