Indian Postal Department Hosts Dak Chaupals Nationwide to Boost Services
Special Post Office Campaign Organized
Ajmer : As part of the Government of India’s 100-day program, the Indian Postal Department plans to organize 5,000 Dak Chaupals across the country to celebrate the core values of postal services and connect with the people.
Superintendent of the Post Office, Mr. Devi Lal Saharan, said that the aim is to provide the public with advanced digital banking facilities and Aadhaar services. Dak Chaupals were organized at Patan village in Kishangarh Sub-division, Gagwana in Ajmer North Sub-division, and Hatundi in Ajmer South Sub-division. At the Patan event, 32 accounts were opened on the spot, while 41 accounts were opened at Hatundi and 104 at Gagwana.
He also mentioned that Dak Chaupals were held at the Ajmer Head Post Office, with Mr. Gaurav Chapra, Principal of Dream Land School, and philatelist Mr. S.P. Kataria in attendance. In Kishangarh, the event was led by Postmaster Shri Rajendra Bhuparia. Throughout these camps, 142 accounts were opened under the Sukanya Samriddhi Khata Abhiyan.
Services provided at these events included Aadhaar updates, Aadhaar registration, and biometric data updates. India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) also opened premium accounts and issued accident insurance policies. All post office services, including small savings schemes, insurance, and various accounts, were offered under one roof to the local communities. An additional Aadhaar counter was set up to meet the needs of the public, offering free Aadhaar services for children under 5 years of age.
The goal of these Dak Chaupals is to provide the public with easy access to postal services, including opening Sukanya Samriddhi accounts for girls. So far, 1,713 girls have benefited from this initiative in the Ajmer Division, with the campaign continuing until September 30.
