Prime Minister’s Interaction with Beneficiaries at the Theme Pavilion
Wardha : Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the theme pavilion set up to mark the anniversary of the Vishwakarma Yojana, where he inspected 18 works of art of international standard. During the visit, Prime Minister Modi interacted with the beneficiaries and gathered information about their works. The exhibition will be open to the public on September 21 and 22.
Last year, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises of the Central Government launched the P.M. Vishwakarma Yojana to recognize traditional artisans and handicraftsmen in rural and urban areas and support their overall development. The annual ceremony for this scheme was held today, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance. While inspecting the impressive works featured in the PM Vishwakarma Yojana exhibition, the Prime Minister praised the artisans for their talent and craftsmanship.
The exhibition includes art pieces from various artisans: Jaimbun Nisha (garland maker) from Uttarakhand, Sintu Kumar (doll and toy maker) from Bihar, Akhirili Kirha (carpenter) from Nagaland, Ramnath Singh Gujar (sculptor) from Madhya Pradesh, Satish K.C. (goldsmith) from Kerala, Sudipta Das (mats-making artisan) from Odisha, Gopal Madia (blacksmith) from Jharkhand, M. Harikrishna (barber) from Andhra Pradesh, Kantibai Sahu (basket maker) from Chhattisgarh, Upendra Baruha (mason) from Assam, Maharaju Lakshmi (washer) from Telangana, Kamal Kumar (cobbler) from Punjab, Rajaram (potter) from Uttar Pradesh, Abdul Majeed Bhat (boat maker) from Jammu and Kashmir, Kirti Santoshrao Ravekar (tailor) from Maharashtra, Shekharappa Kamm (gunsmith) from Karnataka, Bhola Lauhar (hammer and tool kit maker) from Rajasthan, and Kamleshbhai Parmar (lock maker) from Gujarat.
