Sagar Medical College to be renamed as ‘Acharya Vidyasagar Medical College’: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Sagar Medical College will be renamed ‘Acharya Vidyasagar Medical College’ as a tribute to Jainism. In a significant gesture towards the Jain community, he also revealed that a Jain Welfare Board would be established in the state. Dr. Yadav further pledged that the government would prioritize providing free building facilities to Jain Munis in both urban and rural areas during their Vihar if needed. Dr Yadav was adressing the Kshamavani Mahotsav celebration at his residence. Highlighting the rich history of Jain religion and culture, Dr. Yadav noted that cities like Ujjain have upheld Jain traditions for thousands of years. He also announced the upcoming inauguration of medical colleges in Neemuch, Mandsaur, and Seoni next month. For his commitment to the Jain community, Dr. Yadav was honored with a memento and citation. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Minister Shri Chaitanya Kashyap welcomed him at the event.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that any nation that grows and achieves self-sufficiency naturally seeks to share its culture with others. He expressed pride in India’s ability to effectively utilize its strengths. Dr. Yadav emphasized that India aims to become a powerful nation dedicated to the welfare of its citizens, striving to be counted among the best in the world. He noted that this pride is heightened by the fact that, under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, India promotes a message of peace even amid conflicts like those between Russia and Ukraine.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government has banned the sale of meat in the open. It is the responsibility of the government to establish law and order and good governance. The state government has decided to open Ayurvedic colleges under all divisions. We will promote gaushalas and animal husbandry. A decision has also been taken to give bonuses on the sale of milk.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that for thousands of years, our rulers have adhered to the principle of “live and let live.” He emphasized that India has never believed in attacking other nations or enslaving people; this tradition is deeply rooted in our culture. Dr. Yadav highlighted that true strength lies in a capable and elder person showing forgiveness to their subordinates, and that humility from an elder toward a younger individual exemplifies bravery. He pointed out that this philosophy is embodied in the teachings of Lord Mahavir. The Chief Minister further noted that the Acharyas of Jainism have guided us on the path to progress, and that through Jain munis, one can find joy in living, inspiration, strength, and support.

MP Shri V.D. Sharma said that it is indeed great to be forgiving. Only one who is capable and powerful can forgive. Kshamavani is a sacred festival of our culture. The entire Jain community has played an important role in the country and society. He said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is taking all societies and classes along and believes in following Prime Minister Shri Modi’s mantra of Sabka Saath – Sabka Vikas.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Minister Shri Chaitanya Kashyap said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav himself has taken the initiative to organize the Kshamavani programme. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has worked to promote the Jain philosophy. This is an important festival which spreads the message of our culture. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is giving importance to all festivals and events. Former Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya thanked Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. He said that it is after a very long time that the Kshamavani program has been organized at the Chief Minister’s residence.

MLA Ujjain Shri Anil Jain Kalukheda, Niwari MLA Shri Anil Jain, Sagar MLA Shri Shailendra Jain, Shivpuri MLA Shri Devendra Jain, Mandsaur MLA Shri Vipin Jain, former minister Shri Om Prakash Sakhlecha, former minister Shri Surendra Patwa, former minister Shri Jayant. Malaiya, former minister Shri Sharad Jain, public representatives, and followers of Jainism were present in the programme. Mangalacharan dance, welcome songs, and bhajans were presented in the programme. A short video film related to Kshamavani festival was screened.
