Message of Universal Peace and Harmony in Jainism – Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal SharmaJain Community: Pioneer in Public Welfare Work

Jaipur : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma stated that while making mistakes is natural, acknowledging those mistakes and seeking forgiveness is a great human quality, and forgiving others is an even greater virtue. He emphasized that asking for forgiveness eliminates bitterness and hatred, paving the way for peace and harmony in society.

Shri Sharma was addressing the ‘Collective Forgiveness Festival’ organized by the Rajasthan Jain Sabha at Mahaveer Public School in Jaipur on Sunday. He remarked that this day serves as a festival of spiritual purification and reminds us of our responsibilities toward society. In Jainism, asking for forgiveness is crucial, as it leads to self-purification, which in turn improves relationships and promotes mental peace and spiritual growth.

The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of forgiveness, apologizing for any mistakes committed knowingly or unknowingly. He said Jainism has given the world the message of peace and harmony, and forgiveness is one of its greatest virtues. On this occasion, Shri Sharma also honored those who observed the 32 and 16 fasts of Solahkarana Vrat and the 10 fasts of Milyana Parva.

He further noted that the Jain community holds a special place in religious, social, and public welfare activities. The community has always been a leader in education and healthcare and in helping the poor and needy. Various trusts and organizations within the Jain community play a significant role in public welfare by operating hospitals, schools, and hospices across the region. The Chief Minister also positively acknowledged the demand for land allocation for Jain hostels. Additionally, he expressed that saints and sages are always welcome at the Chief Minister’s residence.

Foundation for Peace

Shri Sharma noted that Jainism’s Millennial Festival serves as a source of inspiration for humanity. This festival not only paves the way for spiritual growth but also lays the foundation for social harmony and peace. By embracing these values, individuals can purify their lives and contribute to a happy and prosperous society. He added that Jainism’s teachings of truth, non-violence, celibacy, and asceticism remain highly relevant today, with Ahimsa encouraging abstention from physical, mental, and verbal violence.

Pathfinders of the Rishi-Muni Society

The Chief Minister also praised saints and sages for their role in preserving the country’s rich culture and traditions. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping society, and their contributions to the nation’s progress are commendable. He noted that Jain sages, through their travels across the country, are spiritually strengthening the community.

Our Charitable Chief Minister

Muni Shri Shashank Sagar, Pawan Sagar, and Samatwa Sagar Maharaj praised the Chief Minister for his simplicity and kindness, adding that his charitable nature is evident in both his name and actions.

Muni Shri Subhadra Sagar, Archit Sagar, Sheel Sagar, and Sandesh Sagar also graced the occasion, alongside Jain MP Mrs. Manju Sharma, Malviya Nagar MLA Mr. Kalicharan Saraf, Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Mr. Puneet Karnawat, Rajasthan Jain Sabha President Mr. Subhash Chand Jain, and many members of the Jain community.
