Deputy Chief Whip congratulates HP Vidhan Sabha Speaker on appointment as Coordinator of CPA India Region–II

Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania today here congratulated HP Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, on his prestigious appointment as the Coordinator of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region-II.

Kewal Singh Pathania lauded Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania for his distinguished leadership and tireless efforts towards upholding democratic values, both within the state and across the nation. He said that his appointment was a testament to the longstanding dedication to public service and significant contributions to parliamentary affairs.

He said that throughout his career, Kuldeep Singh Pathania has been a staunch advocate for the rights of farmers and labourers, promoting social harmony and offering free legal aid to the underprivileged. His legal career spans several years, with extensive practice in various parts of the State.

He was a dedicated member of the Congress party since his college days, and held various key positions within the party, including President of the Block Youth Congress, Senior Vice-President of the District Congress Committee and Chief Spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee. He has also served as Chairman of the HP Congress Committee’s Legal Cell.

He was elected to the HP Legislative Assembly five times, has been an influential voice in state governance, serving in multiple capacities such as Chairman of the Committee on Public Undertakings, Chairman of the State Finance Commission, and Chairman of the HP Pollution Control Board. He was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the HP Vidhan Sabha on 5^th January 2023.

Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania expressed confidence that under Kuldeep Singh Pathania’s leadership as CPA India Region-II Coordinator, the region would witness significant advancements in promoting parliamentary democracy and collaboration among commonwealth nations.

He said that his appointment brings immense pride to the State and his vast experience and commitment to public welfare would enhance the stature of CPA India Region-II.
