State Level Committee On Sasci Ten Working Women Hostels

Aizawl : A meeting of the State Level Committee on SASCI was held today in the Chief Minister’s Conference Hall, chaired by Pu Lalduhoma, the Chief Minister. The committee discussed the implementation of Part X of SASCI, 2024-25, which focuses on the construction of Working Women Hostels in various locations.

During the meeting, PWD (Public Works Department) provided detailed plans for the construction. The total estimated cost for these projects is Rs. 127 crore. Once constructed, these hostels will operate under the guidelines specified in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model to ensure effective management and operation.

The proposed locations for these hostels are: ZMC Complex, Lunglei Ramthar Veng, Thenzawl Field Veng, Ramhlun Sports Complex, ITI Complex in Aizawl, Champhai Kahrawt Veng, and Khatla in Aizawl. Not all hostels will have the same capacity, with some designed to accommodate 140 residents, while others will have a capacity of 40 residents, depending on the specific requirements of the location.

The meeting was attended by Pu Vanlalhlana, PWD Minister; Pi Lalrinpuii, Social Welfare Minister; Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, LESDE Minister; Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, Adviser to the CM (Finance); and other committee members.
