E-Waste Management Awareness Workshop Held

Aizawl : Today, the Mizoram Pollution Control Board (MPCB) and Hulladek Recycling Company organized an awareness workshop on e-waste management at the MINECO Taxation Department Auditorium. The workshop was chaired by Pu Liankima Lailung (IFS Retd.), Chairman of MPCB.

During the session, it was emphasized that electronic waste (e-waste) collectors must properly manage e-waste. The state pollution control board will oversee these collectors, ensuring they maintain proper storage and handling procedures. The growing challenge of e-waste requires proactive measures to manage it effectively and protect the environment.

The workshop included a PowerPoint presentation by Hulladek Recycling Company and MPCB, covering the E-waste Management Rules, best practices, and the responsibilities of citizens in managing e-waste. Participants were educated on the importance of responsible disposal and recycling of electronic waste to minimize environmental impact.

The workshop aimed to clarify how to manage electronic waste effectively and promote sustainable practices. The discussion also highlighted the need for collaboration between communities and companies to ensure proper e-waste recycling. Attendees were encouraged to take a pledge to manage e-waste responsibly.

Various government departments and local authorities participated in the workshop, discussing the importance of e-waste recycling and repair services within Aizawl.
