Women Leading the Way : Jai Maa Durga Self Help Group’s Success in Fly Ash Brick Manufacturing
The women of the Jai Maa Durga Women Self Help Group in Kanpa Gram Panchayat of Mahasamund district have set a remarkable example of self-reliance. Through hard work and determination, they have established a successful fly ash brick manufacturing business. Group President Smt. Ahilya Sahu and Secretary Smt. Kalyani Dubey shared that they received financial assistance under the Bihan Yojana to support their venture.
With the funding from the scheme, Smt. Kalyani and her group built their business from the ground up. To date, they have manufactured nearly 3,00,000 fly ash bricks, which have been sold to both government and non-government organizations. Initially, the group generated a net income of Rs 1,50,000, providing crucial economic support and demonstrating to women that they too can start their own businesses and achieve self-reliance.
The women of this self-help group have shown that no challenge is too difficult to overcome when backed by hard work and courage. By entering the male-dominated field of fly ash brick manufacturing, they have proven that women can excel in any industry. Their success has inspired other self-help groups and has become a symbol of women’s economic empowerment in the district. With this achievement, the Jai Maa Durga Women Self Help Group sends a powerful message: with dedication, perseverance, and appropriate financial support, women can reach new heights in business. These women are not only changing their destinies through various jobs but are also striving to improve their families’ standards of living while playing a vital role in society.
