Chief Minister Visits Champhai Grape Growers Society Winery
Champhai : Today, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma visited the Champhai Grape Growers Society Winery in Tlangsam. A meeting was held with the leaders of the Society.
The representatives of the Champhai Grape Growers Society requested the Chief Minister for government support to further enhance the production and distribution of their Grape Wine. They expressed their desire for Grape Wine to be classified as a food item, which would enable it to be sold more freely. They also requested improvements to the License-Vendor system to make it more efficient.
Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma assured the Grape Growers Society that the government is committed to supporting them in the production and marketing of their grapes and wine. He encouraged them to maintain high standards and promised that the government would continue to assist them. He also mentioned that they would explore producing other products besides grapes.
The Mizoram government is actively promoting its flagship program, the ‘Bana Kaih – Hand Holding Policy,’ which aims to support local farmers and producers. Under this policy, the government is providing necessary assistance to those in need, ensuring their requirements are met.
The meeting was chaired by Pu HS Vanlalfakzuala, Chairman of the Champhai Grape Growers Society.
Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma will stay in Champhai tonight and proceed to Serchhip tomorrow.
