Now dispensary workers can be referred directly to specialist hospitals, Labor Minister gave instructions
In the meeting of the Regional Council of Employees State Insurance Corporation, the State Labor Minister Mr. Lakhan Lal Devangan directed the officials to make such a system in which the workers and their family members can be referred directly from the dispensary to the specialist hospital (contracted). At present, patients suffering from serious diseases and in emergency have to first be referred to the ESIC dispensary and then from the main hospital to the contracted hospital. To ensure that the workers’ families do not have to face much trouble due to this complicated process, Minister Mr. Devangan said that until ESIC does not increase the facilities in its hospitals, it should provide adequate facilities to the patients in other hospitals. The Cabinet Minister directed to register as many workers as possible in ESIC by surveying the rice mills, malls, shopping complexes, private schools and other institutions of the state. He directed to start offices and hospitals in Bastar soon. He instructed to start 4 new dispensaries in the state. Also asked to increase the facility of IPD in ESIC hospitals.
Labor Minister Shri Devangan has instructed the officials that the best possible treatment should be provided to the workers in the hospitals run by the Employees State Insurance Corporation, and they should not face any kind of inconvenience. Cabinet Minister Shri Devangan gave instructions to this effect in the meeting of the Regional Council under the Employees State Insurance Corporation, which includes ESI and RITES officials, at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan here today. Shri Devangan asked the ESI local doctor to invite the members of the Regional Board to inspect the facilities available in the ESIC hospital. Approval has been given to open 4 new dispensaries in Chhattisgarh region, including those in villages Lara, Kharsia, Tilda and Urla. Action is being taken by the Employees State Insurance Corporation in this regard.
Cabinet Minister Shri Dewangan took information from the officials regarding the construction of 100 bed hospital for Bilaspur district. Officials informed that the land options given by the state government for the hospital have been examined by the committee and sent to the headquarters. The options are being evaluated by the headquarters Employees State Insurance Corporation. Dispensary Office (DCBO) was approved for Bastar district. In which, as per the policy decisions taken by the headquarters Employees State Insurance Corporation, new offices are to be opened only in the buildings of government, semi-government, public sector undertakings. But suitable building has not been made available yet. In this regard, the Cabinet Minister directed Bharat Sanchar Nigam and Life Insurance Corporation of India to contact these institutions for the availability of the building. Officials informed that the state government has identified land for the construction of village Kurundi dispensary cum office (DCBO). This land has been found suitable for this. The corporation agreed to send a proposal regarding getting the allotment from the state government as soon as possible.
Officials informed that branch offices are to be opened soon in four more districts of Chhattisgarh. Buildings have been taken on rent from BSNL to open branches in Surguja, Surajpur and Dantewada. The operation of which will start soon. Along with this, correspondence is being done with BSNL to take a building on rent to open a branch office in Jashpur as well. For allotment of land for construction of dispensaries in Urla and Tilda, the Collector’s Office Raipur informed that all the vacant land available in Urla has been handed over to Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC). The district administration assured that if vacant land is available in Urla, then after its confirmation from (CSIDC), the Employees State Insurance Corporation will be informed for further action. In this regard, continuous coordination is being done with the district administration. Employees State Insurance Corporation Hospital Ravabhata Raipur is approved for a capacity of 100 beds. At present, OPD, IPD and emergency casualty are operating here. Other new services are being added to this hospital in a phased manner. In the meeting, the officials informed that the Employees State Insurance Corporation is running a 100-bed hospital in Korba. At present, OPD, 24-hour emergency medical service and lab service are being run here. Apart from this, OPD service is being run in 100-bed hospitals in Bhilai and Parasada (Raigarh). Other new services are being added in these hospitals in a phased manner. Regional Council members including Mr. Harish Kedia, Mr. D.K. Agarwal and Mr. L.P. Katkwar gave many important suggestions in the interest of workers.
