ICT Minister At Awareness And Sensitization Workshop On User Experience & Design System
Aizawl : Today at 11:00 AM, the Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Department, in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), MeitY, Government of India, organized an “Awareness and Sensitization Workshop on User Experience & Design System” at Aijal Club, Aizawl. ICT Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana inaugurated the event.
Dr. Vanlalthlana emphasized that the workshop, conducted by NeGD and the local ICT department, is crucial for ensuring effective user experience in digital services. He mentioned the importance of user-friendly websites and applications, stating that the focus should be on enhancing the user interface/user experience (UI/UX). As technology evolves, it is essential that websites are designed to be accessible to the public.
The ICT Minister noted that there is a need for constant updates on government websites to provide relevant information. He highlighted the importance of ensuring that the websites and apps serve the public efficiently. Dr. Vanlalthlana mentioned that the website homepage must be updated with critical information, and that regular updates should be made on various laws, rules, notifications, and orders to keep the public informed. He asserted that better governance relies on improved information technology and the overall user experience on government platforms.
Dr. Lalthlamuana, Chief Informatics Officer of the ICT Department, explained that this workshop is significant for enhancing the capabilities of government departments in Mizoram. The session featured experts from MeitY and NeGD, including Pu Aditya P. Singh, UX Designer, Pu Ajeet Kumar, Deputy General Manager, and Pi Neeta Tandon, SC, who provided insights on improving online services and mobile applications.
The workshop will comprise five sessions, aiming to equip participants from various government departments in Mizoram with the skills necessary for effective user engagement. Participants will receive certificates upon completion, and the workshop serves as an opportunity for collaboration among officials from different departments.
