Contribution of Satara District Central Cooperative Bank to District Development

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar celebrated the Amrit Mahotsav of the Satara District Central Cooperative Bank, highlighting the bank’s significant contributions to the economic, social, agricultural, and educational development of the district. The bank has implemented various schemes to ensure maximum benefit for farmers, which Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar acknowledged as a result of the government’s cooperation in executing these initiatives.

During the celebration held at Sainik School, Sohla, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar, along with Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai, MP and Bank Chairman Nitin Patil, MLAs Shri Ramraje Naik-Nimbalkar, Balasaheb Patil, Makrand Patil, Shrimant Chhatrapati Shivendra Singh Bhosale, Deepak Chavan, and Bank Vice Chairman Anil Desai, were present.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawar noted that the performance of the Satara District Central Cooperative Bank is among the best in the state, with the bank receiving numerous awards for its achievements. He highlighted the impressive progress the bank has made since its inception and mentioned that the state government has made several decisions to enhance the economic progress of farmers. He emphasized that, following the Central Government’s decision regarding SMP rates, farmers will receive better prices. Additionally, a decision has been made to provide free subsidies to farmers with up to 7.5 horsepower, along with an extra subsidy of Rs. 7 for milk-producing farmers.

Pawar also announced that the state aims to produce nine thousand megawatts of solar energy, stating that the sub-irrigation scheme in the state will be solar-powered in a phased manner, which will also benefit Satara district. He expressed confidence that the Satara District Central Cooperative Bank will continue to report progress in the coming days.

Guardian Minister Desai noted that the Satara District Central Bank has maintained financial discipline since its establishment and has consistently made decisions in the best interest of farmers and customers. He remarked that construction is the biggest business that no politician can engage in.

Chairman and MP Nitin Patil stated that many schemes are being implemented to improve farmers’ living standards, mentioning that the bank has a total of 319 branches and has supported the establishment of cooperative sugar factories in the district. He emphasized that social work is being carried out through various initiatives.

MLA Naik-Nimbalkar praised the glorious tradition of the Satara District Central Cooperative Bank and emphasized the importance of financial education. He also suggested integrating artificial intelligence with the banking sector.

The program was attended by District Magistrate Jitendra Dudi, Chief Executive Officer Yashni Nagarajan, NABARD’s Rajendra Choudhary, District Superintendent of Agriculture Bhagyashree Farande, District Deputy Registrar Sanjay Kumar Sudrik, along with numerous bank operators, citizens, and women.
