Minister P. Moorthy Reviews Registration Department Performance for September 2024.
Hon’ble Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration Department, Mr. P. Moorthy, conducted a review meeting today (03.10.2024) at the integrated Commercial Taxes (and) Registration Department office conference hall in Natham, focusing on the work performance of the department’s registrars, district registrars (administration and audit), district revenue officers/special commissioners, and assistant commissioners for the month of September 2024.
During the meeting, the department registrars and district registrars shared their findings from surprise inspections conducted at the registrar offices in previous months.
Among the topics discussed were ensuring immediate approval of the registered documents on the same day (to avoid delay in registration of encumbrance certificates), automatic generation of land title transfer once documents are registered, prompt dispatch of sale deeds and certified copies to applicants through the internal digital system, updates on the count and status of pending land-related documents, monitoring the work of the audit branch officers, and feedback on revenue and administrative matters. Hon’ble Minister reviewed these issues and provided detailed guidance.
The Hon’ble Minister also instructed the department to take necessary steps to ensure the prompt delivery of registered documents to applicants. Further, he directed the officers to implement the action points discussed with senior officials in accordance with departmental policies.
Compared to the revenue for the month of September in the last financial year (2023-24), an additional revenue of ₹1,121 crores has been generated in September of this financial year.
Present at the meeting were Mr. Priyender Navneet, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Commercial Taxes and Registration Department; Mr. Deesh Panwar, IAS, Inspector General of Registration; and other senior officials from the department.
