Health Minister Releases Mental Health and De-addiction Poster: Encourages Youth to Adopt a Healthy, Balanced Lifestyle

Jaipur – On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khinsar released a poster on mental health and de-addiction at his official residence on Thursday.

The Health Minister emphasized that people of all ages, from children to the elderly, are increasingly suffering from mental health issues, including depression, due to the pressures of modern life. The state government is committed to providing improved mental health services to its citizens. He also urged the youth to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle for overall physical and mental well-being.

Present at the poster release were Dr. Lalit Batra, Superintendent of the Psychiatry Center in Jaipur; Dr. Alok Tyagi, Head of the Psychiatry Department at Sawai Mansingh Medical College; State Nodal Officer of the National Mental Health Programme, Shri Sanvarmal Swamy; Deputy Superintendent Dr. Sunil Sharma; District Nodal Officer of the Mental Health Programme, Shri Rajesh Sharma; and Senior Acharya Dr. Yogesh Satija, along with other concerned officials.

In addition to the poster release, a mental health run was organized from Sawai Mansingh Medical College to Statue Circle. Principal Dr. Deepak Maheshwari flagged off the event, which saw around 200 participants.

Video Conference on Stress Management
As part of the World Mental Health Day observances, Director of Public Health Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur presided over a video conference on the theme of prioritizing mental health in the workplace. Chief Medical and Health Officers, along with block-level officials, participated in the conference.

Dr. Suneet Ranawat, Director of RCH, shared insights on stress management at work, emphasizing the importance of staying happy and living each moment to the fullest. During the session, State Nodal Officer of the National Mental Health Programme, Dr. SM Swamy, presented the progress of the program and highlighted the significance of mental health.

Representatives from related departments, including the Home Department, Police, Education, as well as development partners like UNICEF and SRKPS, also participated in the video conference.
