Chitrakoot Dham to shine with LED gates and floral decorations during the five-day program
Lucknow : In its ongoing efforts to boost spiritual tourism and develop pilgrimage sites across Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government is preparing to transform the Amavasya fair, held during Diwali, at Chitrakoot Dham.
Following the success of events like Ayodhya’s Deepotsav and Varanasi’s Dev Diwali, the government now aims to give this traditional fair a divine and grand appearance.
As part of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, the Chitrakoot Dham Teerth Vikas Parishad is finalizing preparations for the five-day event, running from October 28 to November 1. Central to the plan is a large-scale beautification project that will see the entire Chitrakoot Dham adorned with attractive lighting and floral decorations.
Intelligent LED lighting gates will be installed, and 13 key hotspot areas, including the Ramayana Mela site, Ramghat, and the railway station, will be extensively decorated to create a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
According to the action plan by the Chitrakoot Dham Teerth Vikas Parishad, the entire pilgrimage area will be beautifully decorated for the Amavasya fair during Diwali. The decorations will include colorful LED lights, fabric (dasa cloth), and flower garlands.
As part of the plan, 13 key locations in Chitrakoot Dham, including the fair site, will feature large, 40-feet high and 30-feet wide intelligent LED gates that will attract visitors. These temporary gates will have running LED lights and will be designed around devotional themes, showcasing events from the life of Lord Ram.
The gates will be decorated with fabric, flower garlands, and cutouts of Lord Ram. The main gate at the fair venue will also feature a bow-shaped decoration along with a cutout of Lord Ram, creating a grand entrance.
Additionally, LED screens, tables, and other props will be used to enhance the look of the venue, and the entire pilgrimage area will glow with colorful lights and flower decorations.
Lord Shri Ram’s deep connection with Chitrakoot is well known, as he spent 11 years of his exile in this sacred land. His presence is felt in every corner of Chitrakoot, making it a significant pilgrimage destination, especially during Diwali.
Every year, lakhs of devotees from across India and the world gather to light lamps at various ghats, including the famous Ramghat on the banks of the Mandakini River.
According to the tradition, after his victory over Lanka, Lord Shri Ram paused in Chitrakoot on his way back to Ayodhya to meet the sages. With their blessings, he expressed his gratitude by donating a lamp in the Mandakini River.
This ritual has continued ever since, with devotees lighting lamps in the river, circumambulating Kamadgiri, and visiting important temples and spiritual sites like Kamtanath during Diwali.
Devotees from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and other regions come to Chitrakoot Dham to participate in these sacred festivities.
To preserve these holy memories and enhance the experience for pilgrims, the Yogi government and the Chitrakoot Dham Teerth Vikas Parishad are making grand arrangements for this year’s Diwali celebration.
In preparation for the five-day event, key locations across Chitrakoot Dham will be adorned with spectacular decorations, including the installation of LED gates.
Areas such as UPT Square-Sitapur, Ramayana Mela site, Ramghat, Hanuman ji of Barha, Nirmohi Akhara, Khohi Tiraha, Patel Tiraha-Karvi, Dhanush Square-Karvi, Railway Station Road-Karvi, Mandakini Bridge and Temple-Karvi, Valmiki Ashram Lalapur, and Bharatkup Temple will all receive special lighting and floral decorations.
