Former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique’s State Funeral Following Tragic Shooting
In Mumbai, the remains of Baba Siddique, a former minister and NCP leader, were taken from his Bandra residence for a state funeral procession. The last rites will be performed with full state honors at Bada Qabrastan in Mumbai.
Baba Siddique suffered two gunshot wounds to his chest and was urgently admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Saturday night. Despite the medical team’s efforts, he sadly passed away from his injuries. Dr. Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital reported that Siddique arrived around 9:30 PM, but his vital signs were undetectable, and the ECG indicated a flat line.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Mumbai police apprehended two suspects: Gurmail Singh from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh. The suspects were brought before Mumbai’s Esplanade Court, where Gurmail Singh was remanded into the custody of the Mumbai Crime Branch until October 21. The court also ordered an ossification test for Dharamraj Kashyap.
