Toll Waiver for Light Vehicles on Five Entry Routes in Mumbai
A decision to waive toll fees for light vehicles on five entry routes in Mumbai was made at the cabinet meeting held today, chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This will take effect from midnight on October 14.
Light vehicles, school buses, and ST buses will be exempt from these tolls. The implementation will occur at the toll booths located in Vashi on the Sion-Panvel highway, in Mulund on Lal Bahadur Shastri Road, near Airoli Bridge on the Eastern Express Highway in Mulund, and at the Dahisar toll booth on the Western Express Highway. Due to this exemption, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to determine the compensation to be paid to the State Road Development Corporation.

Establishment of a Corporation for the Agri Community
A decision was made to establish a corporation for the Agri community at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
This corporation will implement various welfare schemes, particularly for the youth of the Agri community.

Career Advancement Scheme for Faculty in Social Work Colleges
Approval was granted at today’s cabinet meeting to implement a Career Advancement Scheme for faculty in social work colleges. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
It was decided that the benefits of this scheme would be applicable from January 1, 2016. Approval was granted for an expenditure of ₹45.98 crore for this scheme. As part of the University Grants Commission’s initiative, this scheme will also apply to other colleges, hence the demand to extend its benefits to faculty in social work colleges.

Approval for Daman Ganga Ekdare and Daman Ganga-Vaitarna Godavari River Linking Projects
Approval was granted for the Daman Ganga Ekdare Godavari River linking project and the Daman Ganga-Vaitarna Godavari River linking project at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The Daman Ganga-Ekdare-Godavari project will benefit 10,011 hectares of land in Marathwada with irrigation. It will provide 68.786 million cubic meters for irrigation, 13.76 million cubic meters for drinking water, and 9.17 million cubic meters for industrial use. Earlier, plans to divert water from Konkan to drought-affected Marathwada were approved. Inter-state projects like the Daman Ganga-Pinjala, river linking project, Narpara Girna River scheme, and the Daman Ganga-Vaitarna-Godavari and Daman Ganga-Ekdare-Godavari river linking projects will be implemented as state projects. The cost of this project is ₹2,213 crore.
Approval was also granted for the ₹13,497.24 crore Daman Ganga-Vaitarna Godavari River linking project. This project will provide 5.68 TMC of additional water for local use and benefit the drought-prone Sinnar taluka in Nashik district and the Jayakwadi project in Marathwada.

Administrative Approval for Shani Devgaon Dam in Vaijapur
Administrative approval was granted for the Shani Devgaon high-level dam in Vaijapur taluka at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
This dam is located in the Godavari River basin under the Godavari Irrigation Development Corporation and will create a water storage capacity of 8.84 million cubic meters, benefiting 1,978 hectares of land for irrigation. Water from the dilapidated Kolhapur dams of Kamalpur and Khanapur in the submerged area of this dam will be utilized through the Shani Devgaon dam.

Transfer of State Agricultural Corporation Land to MIDC
A decision was made to transfer 131 hectares and 50 ares of state agricultural corporation land located at Mau. Junction, Mau. Bharnewadi, Mau. Anthurne, and Mau. Lasurne to MIDC at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The land, comprising 20 hectares and 38 ares at Mau. Junction, 24 hectares and 24 ares at Mau. Bharnewadi, 21 hectares and 18 ares at Mau. Anthurne, and 65 hectares and 70 ares at Mau. Lasurne, will be provided at current market rates.

Land in Pachapakhadi for Thane Municipal Corporation’s Administrative Building
A decision was made to allocate land located at Mau. Pachapakhadi in Thane taluka for the Thane Municipal Corporation’s administrative building at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The land, comprising 36 gunthas and 92 ares in Survey No. 534 at Pachapakhadi, will be allocated for the administrative building of Thane Municipal Corporation.

Free Land in Khidkali for Hybrid Skill University
A decision was made to provide land free of cost for a Hybrid Skill University in Khidkali, Thane taluka, at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The land of 7 hectares, 69 gunthas, and 34 ares in Khidkali will be provided as a special case for the Hybrid Skill University under the Social Justice Department.
Urban Development Department
Approval for Pune Metro Rail Phase-2 Railway Works
Approval was granted for the railway works of Pune Metro Rail Phase-2 at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Considering the significance of the projects in this phase, including the Kharadi-Hadapsar-Swargate-Khadakwasla and Nal Stop-Warje-Manikbagh routes, approval was granted for these metro routes. The total length of these routes is 31.63 km, with 28 elevated stations. Approval was also granted for the implementation of this project with a cost of ₹9,817.19 crore through MahaMetro.

Loan for Killar Farmers’ Cooperative Factory
Approval was granted for the equal installment repayment of the loan of Killar Farmers’ Cooperative Factory at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
An amount of ₹6 crore, 89 lakh, and 48 thousand was approved for equal installment repayment over 8 years according to the loan repayment policy. This includes ₹3 crore, 42 lakh, and 70 thousand on the government guarantee for the payment due for 1981-82, ₹2 crore, 85 lakh, and 53 thousand on the government guarantee for the loan for the year 2002-03 as per SMP, and ₹61 lakh and 25 thousand for the loan guarantee fees.

Waiver of Arrears for Cooperative Lift Irrigation Schemes in Distress
A decision was made to waive the arrears for cooperative lift irrigation schemes in distress at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This will benefit 42,842 farmers.
Currently, there are 2,659 cooperative lift irrigation institutions in the state, with 261 institutions having bank arrears. Of these institutions, 144 are currently operational, while 47 are defunct and 70 have had their registrations canceled. At today’s cabinet meeting, approval was granted to waive ₹83 crore and 9 lakh in principal loans for 117 defunct and canceled registration institutions. Similarly, approval was granted to waive 50% of the principal loan amounting to ₹49 crore and 45 lakh for the currently operational 144 institutions. In total, approval was granted to waive ₹132 crore and 54 lakh in principal loans.

Approval was granted to create 3 positions in Emergency Medicine at Miraj Government Medical College at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Positions for Associate Professor, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Infectious Disease Specialist, Custodian, Chemist, Safety Inspector, Resident, and Faculty will be dedicated to the subject of Emergency Medicine, with 3 new positions created for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor.

Old Pension Scheme for Medical Officers with Claim Settlement
A decision was made to apply the old pension scheme for medical officers who have undergone claim settlement at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Medical officers belonging to the Maharashtra Medical and Health Services “Group A” category, who joined temporary services before November 1, 2005, and those appointed by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission and Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited under the notification dated February 2, 2009, will have the old pension scheme applicable to them.
These officers will have the old pension scheme applicable according to the government decision dated November 8, 2023, in alignment with the principle of equal justice, as per the Government Circular dated February 28, 2017, from the Law and Justice Department.

A decision was made to establish a study group for the Annasaheb Javali Marathwada Development Corporation at today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
