₹92.41 Crore Subsidy Transferred to Dairy Farmers’ Bank Accounts Under Chief Minister’s Milk Production Assistance Scheme, Benefiting 3.25 Lakh Livestock Owners

Jaipur : In a special Diwali gift to dairy farmers, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Shri Zoraram Kumawat announced on Tuesday at the Secretariat that ₹92.41 crore in subsidies under the Chief Minister’s Milk Production Assistance Scheme had been directly transferred to the bank accounts of dairy farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. This initiative is set to benefit around 3.25 lakh livestock owners across the state.

Speaking to the media, Shri Kumawat stated that payments for milk are made by the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF), and an additional subsidy of ₹5 per liter is being provided to milk producers under the scheme, offering double the benefits to them. The DBT system ensures that the assistance reaches the beneficiaries directly through their bank accounts. He added that the scheme has resulted in an increase in the income of dairy farmers, enabling better livestock care and a boost in milk production, positioning Rajasthan among the leading states in India for milk production.

The minister also noted that under Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma’s leadership, the state government is committed to the welfare of farmers and livestock owners. In the 2024-25 budget, ₹600 crore was allocated for the Chief Minister’s Milk Production Assistance Scheme.

Furthermore, 536 mobile veterinary units and 1962 call centers have been recently launched to provide timely animal healthcare services in remote areas, helping save both time and money for livestock owners.

Shri Kumawat mentioned plans to open Saras Parlors in various cities and efforts to expand Saras booths, milk collection centers, and related infrastructure.

RCDF’s Managing Director Mrs. Shruti Bharadwaj described the Chief Minister’s Milk Production Assistance Scheme as a crucial initiative for supporting dairy farmers.

The event was attended by dairy farmers from different regions, RCDF officials and staff, and representatives from Yes Bank, which facilitated the subsidy transfer.
