Meeting Held with Banks to Discuss Pending Cases Under National Livestock Mission’s Entrepreneurship Development Program

Jaipur : A meeting was held on Wednesday, chaired by Dr. Samit Sharma, Secretary of Animal Husbandry, Gopalan, and Dairy Department, to discuss pending cases in banks related to the Entrepreneurship Development Program under the National Livestock Mission. Representatives from various banks participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, Dr. Sharma instructed the Animal Husbandry Department to appoint district-level nodal officers to coordinate between banks and applicants/entrepreneurs. This step aims to resolve the challenges faced by applicants in securing loans. He also directed banks to share their loan checklists with the department, which would then integrate its requirements to create a comprehensive new checklist. This unified checklist should be made available to applicants through WhatsApp or other means, helping to avoid confusion from having different checklists.

Dr. Sharma emphasized the need for quick action by bank representatives on the loan application process, stating that the scheme’s objectives can only be achieved if the beneficiaries receive timely benefits.

It is noteworthy that the National Livestock Mission’s Entrepreneurship Development Program is a key initiative by the Government of India’s Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy aimed at employment generation and livestock sector development. The program primarily focuses on activities like animal breed development and entrepreneurship development, offering loans and grants for poultry farming, goat and sheep rearing, pig farming, and more. Interested entrepreneurs can avail 50% of the funding as a loan from banks and 50% as a grant from the Government of India.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Bhawani Singh Rathore, Director of the Animal Husbandry Department; Dr. Anand Sejra, Additional Director (Planning and Supervision); Dr. B.M. Goyal, Deputy Director and Project Coordinator; and representatives from various banks.
