Respect for Art is an Integral Part of Our Culture – Shri Kalraj Mishra, Former Governor

Jaipur : Former Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Kalraj Mishra, stated that respecting art is an integral part of our culture, and therefore, we should always view artists and their work with admiration and make every possible effort to promote them.

Shri Mishra was speaking on Thursday at the inauguration of a five-day art exhibition, “An Art Odyssey,” by renowned artist Smt. Kiran Soni Gupta, held at Bikaner House in New Delhi.

He highlighted that all the paintings displayed in this exhibition vividly showcase the artist’s creativity. The exhibition’s portrayal of Rajasthan’s art, culture, and heritage is a matter of pride and appreciation for the state.

Smt. Kiran Soni Gupta mentioned that the exhibition would be open from October 24 to October 29 at the ‘Living Tradition Center’ at Bikaner House. The exhibition is free for art enthusiasts, and they can visit from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

It is noteworthy that the main artist of this exhibition, Smt. Kiran Soni Gupta, is a 1985 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who has served in various important positions with the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan, gaining international recognition through her paintings.

Her artwork, including “NREGA,” “Pooja Times,” and “Shelters,” was exhibited in Paris in 2012, 2013, and 2017. Smt. Soni’s art, which has earned numerous prestigious honors both in India and abroad, is captivating the audience at Bikaner House.
