Schoolgirls Educated on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management
Jaipur : A one-day workshop was organized on Thursday under the joint initiative of the Department of Women’s Empowerment and the Educate Girls organization, covering Jaipur district headquarters down to the panchayat committee level. The district-level workshop, held at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Galav Nagar, provided hundreds of students with valuable information on menstrual health and hygiene management, among other key topics.
The workshop, presided over by Dr. Rajesh Dogiwal, Deputy Director of the Women’s Empowerment Department, featured Dr. Sonu, an Assistant Professor from the Gynecology Department of the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur. She educated the students about menstrual health, anemia, and related health concerns. Additionally, the session included information on various welfare schemes run by the Rajasthan government, such as the Kali Bai Bhil Sambal Yojana.
Workshops held at the panchayat committee level not only encouraged students to be aware of and proactive about their health, but also included on-the-spot anemia testing for the students.
During the district-level program, a quiz session was conducted by school lecturer Bhavna Goyal, Gender Expert Praveen Kumar from the Women’s Empowerment Department, and District In-charge Gyanprakash Sharma from Educate Girls.
Present at the event were Protection Officer Anirudh Sharma, Pracheta Sanganer Smt. Utchab Sharma, Educate Girls State Lead Sunil Shekhar Sharma, Dr. Bhavna Mishra, Vipul Sharma, District In-charge Gyanprakash Sharma, Rajiv Rai, Radheshyam, Shiv Ganesh, as well as the school’s Principal Lalchand Meena, along with female teachers from the institution.
