Ramlala’s consecration sparks economic boom in Ayodhya, driving business and employment growth
Ayodhya : Since the consecration (Pran Pratishtha) of Ramlala in the grand temple, Ayodhya’s economy has experienced a significant boom, with businesses thriving due to the influx of devotees and tourists. From hoteliers to prasad traders and travel services, various sectors have flourished.
The transformation of Ayodhya, which began with the first Deepotsav in 2017 under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, has brought global recognition to the city. With the completion of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya’s economy, once reliant on fairs, is now soaring, creating abundant employment and business opportunities for residents.
Rise in employment and self-employment opportunities
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has provided employment to 1,000 individuals, offering them not only salaries but also benefits such as PF and gratuity. The area near Maharishi Valmiki International Airport is bustling with new shops, and the construction of the Ram Temple has given a significant boost to the hotel industry and hundreds of homestays.
Small businesses are also thriving, with people earning between Rs 500 to Rs 800 daily by selling items like photos, lockets, pens, water bottles, and sandalwood for the forehead, all featuring Ramlala.
Expansion of big hotels, malls, and restaurants
The construction of the Ram Temple has paved the way for Ayodhya’s development, leading to improved roads and enhanced transportation. New shopping complexes, multiplex theaters, and branded clothing showrooms have opened, creating more employment opportunities for the local population.
Additionally, self-employment has flourished. Anchal Kumar Gupta, a hotel businessman, notes that the Pran Pratishtha of Ramlala has revitalized the local economy, allowing even the smallest of businesses to prosper under Ramlala’s blessings.
Tourism boost fuels business growth
Hotel operator Lakshmikant Pandey shared, “Business has thrived since Ramlala was seated in the grand temple. The continuous influx of visitors has significantly boosted our hotel industry. During Deepotsav, rooms are booked two months in advance.”
Surge in devotees post-Deepotsav
Laddoo trader Chanchal Gupta noted the rise in devotees following the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, benefiting local businesses. “Ayodhya has emerged as a major tourist destination, and the number of visitors will continue to grow, especially after Deepotsav,” he said.
Increased daily earnings
Naveen Mishra, manager of Tourist Yatri Niwas, highlighted the significant rise in devotees post-Pran Pratishtha, which has led to increased daily income for traders. “The surge in visitors is directly boosting business in the city,” he added.
