President Smt. Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the Sarguja block in Purkhauti Muktangan
President Smt. Draupadi Murmu today inaugurated the Sarguja Block at Purkhauti Muktangan in Nava Raipur. The Sarguja Block, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 5 crore, showcases the lifestyle of the tribal community of Chhattisgarh state, especially the Sarguja region, and their cultural and archaeological heritage.
On this occasion, Governor Mr. Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Saw, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Mr. Tokhan Sahu, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ram Vichar Netam, Labor Minister Mr. Lakhanlal Devangan, Food Minister Mr. Dayal Das Baghel, Health Minister Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade, Revenue Minister Mr. Tank Ram Verma, Raipur Lok Sabha constituency MP Mr. Brijmohan Agarwal, MLAs Mr. Khuswant Saheb and Mr. Rohit Sahu were present.
The unique culture, cultural heritage and ancient glory of the tribes of the Sarguja region has been displayed in the Sarguja block. The residences of the various tribes of the Sarguja region and their lifestyle have been beautifully presented, so that we can get acquainted with the lifestyle and culture of various tribal communities in a single place in a better way.
In Surguja block, a house made of bamboo and Chhind leaves depicting the traditional lifestyle of the Pando tribe has been displayed. In these houses, there is a special place for the worship of gods. Similarly, the house of the Pahari Korwa tribe is made of wood, in which the figures of gods and goddesses are carved. This is a symbol of their religious faith. The Samat Sarna Shiva temple built in the block is a replica of the ruins of ancient temples in Deepadih, which are of the 7th-13th century. This place has archaeological and religious importance. Similarly, the Baikunthpur Palace of Korea is an example of Indian architecture. This palace was completed in 1946, it has its own historical importance, which has been built as a replica in the Surguja block of Purkhauti Muktangan.

The Madia Khamba displayed in this block is used in the community functions of the tribals. It is a symbol of the identity of the Madia tribe, it is used as a place of worship. Similarly, the remains of the ancient theatre of Sitabengra cave have been displayed on the Ramgarh hill. It is believed to be the theatre of Bharat Muni. The great poet Kalidas has composed Meghduttam on the Ramgarh hill.

Dayanand, Commissioner Tribal Development Mr. Narendra Dugga, Director Archeology and Culture Mr. Vivek Acharya were also present in the program.
