Central Expenditure Observer Vijay Babu Vasanta Reviews Static Surveillance Teams in Mumbai
Mumbai : In line with the Election Commission of India’s directives for the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections on November 20, 2024, Central Expenditure Observer Vijay Babu Vasanta conducted a review of the Static Surveillance Teams (SST) in five assembly constituencies in Mumbai: 178-Dharavi, 179-Sion-Koliwada, 180-Wadala, 181-Mahim, and 182-Worli.
To ensure strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, Static Surveillance Teams have been deployed in 10 assembly constituencies under the guidance of Mumbai City District Collector and Additional District Election Officer Sanjay Yadav. The expenditure observer is closely monitoring the operations of these teams.
After assessing the activities of the SST in the Mahim constituency, Mr. Vasanta instructed special focus on vehicle inspections. He emphasized the need to check cash, liquor, gifts, and arms with the support of the police, and stressed the importance of documenting all inspections through proper photography. He also directed each team to submit daily reports promptly to the concerned authorities.
To ensure a free and fair election atmosphere, the SST teams are working around the clock in three shifts. Central Expenditure Observer Vijay Babu Vasanta issued specific instructions for the strict enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct. His liaison officer, Sandipan Mate, was also present during the review.
