Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Indian culture cannot survive without the Gita, Ganga, Gaumata and Govind. Gaumata and the Ganga are the only things on earth that are very dear to God, without them the progress of India cannot be imagined. Gauvansh is revered by the entire human race. This festival keeps the Indian people connected to their roots and shows their feeling of respect towards nature. It is also a symbol of the promotion of our culture and tradition. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is working for public welfare by preserving and promoting Indian culture under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav participated in the Govardhan Puja programme under the one-year Vedalakshana Gau-Aradhana Mahotsav at Kamdhenu Cow Sanctuary Salaria District Agar-Malwa on Friday. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also distributed benefits to beneficiaries of public welfare schemes. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav offered prayers to the Govardhan Parvat and Gaumata amidst rituals and chanting of mantras and offered Chhappan Bhog to Lord Krishna. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav dedicated development works worth more than Rs 49 crore for Agar-Malwa district and performed bhoomi pujan. He also congratulated everyone on Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav launched the programme by lighting the lamp and performing Kanya Puja. On this occasion, Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Lakhan Singh Patel, Minister of State with Independent Charge Shri Gautam Tetwal, MP Susner Shri Rodamal Nagar, MLA Shri Madhu Gehlot, Shri Paramhans Pragyananand Ji Maharaj of Shri Godham Mahatirtha Pathmeda, District Panchayat President Smt. Munnabai Chauhan were present.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the whole world knows about our treatment of diseases like cancer with gaumutra, and the milk of Gaumata provides food to more than 200 countries of the world. He said that the Madhya Pradesh government is always committed to gauseva, and programmes are being organized regularly by the government during festivals. Now we are worshiping gaumata. He said that the government has taken an important decision and has doubled the grant earmarked for feeding cattle in gaushalas. We will give protection to all cow shelters. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government will fulfill the pledge of door-to-door gauseva by giving grant to the person who rears more than 10 cows.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all those who rear cattle are Gopalas, those who have a cow in their house, their house is Gokul, and we have to make Gokul in every house, the government has decided to increase gauvansh in every house. Nearly 33 crore Gods and Goddesses also reside in Gaumata. Gaushalas will be opened and it will be the responsibility of the government to take care of old, destitute, and sick cows and this resolution will be fulfilled with the help of the Sant community.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that about 9 percent of the milk production in the country is supplied by Madhya Pradesh. The government has decided to become the leader in the country by improving the breed of cows and increasing milk production through the National Dairy Development Board within the next five years. He said that we want to make such arrangements in the state that those rearing cows should leave non-milching cattle in cow shelters.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today we have celebrated the year of cow promotion in the cow sanctuary through sacred work going on in the sanctuary on such a large scale. The government announced to celebrate the Year of Cow Promotion on Gudi Padwa and it has been implemented in Salaria. It felt great to see the Malvi breed of cows being reared so well in the sanctuary. He said that wherever necessary, water will be arranged for gaumata. He said that on the occasion of Govardhan Puja, let us all together take a pledge to protect the environment. It is very important to have a natural balance for rainfall, make proper use of natural resources and try to increase the greenery around us.
