Tourism Department Hosts District-Wise Tour Itinerary Creation Competition

Aizawl : The Tourism Department organized the first-ever District-Wise Tour Itinerary Creation Competition at Ignite Studio, Khatla. The event was graced by Prof. Lalnilawma, Minister of Rural Development, as the chief guest.

At the event, chief guest Prof. Lalnilawma expressed his delight over the launch of this competition, which was aimed at promoting tourism initiatives in each district by encouraging Deputy Commissioners to highlight their districts’ tourist destinations. He emphasized that showcasing these sites would be an essential step toward advancing tourism development.

Prof. Lalnilawma also expressed appreciation for Tourism Minister Pi Lalrinpuii’s visionary approach, which led to the creation of this impactful initiative. He added that Mizoram offers outstanding tourism potential, with many places yet to be fully promoted to attract more visitors.

He noted that by identifying key destinations to increase tourist footfall, Deputy Commissioners would help not only in showcasing these areas but also in boosting tourism across Mizoram. This initiative, he said, would lead to substantial growth in visitor numbers and inspire pride among locals as they play a significant role in tourism promotion. Prof. Lalnilawma added that community participation as tourism ambassadors would enhance Mizoram’s tourism brand image.

In the competition, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Serchhip District, won first place, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 30,000. The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Saitual District, secured second place with Rs. 20,000, and the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei District, took third place with Rs. 10,000. All participating districts were also awarded certificates.

The judges for the competition included Pu Vanneihtluanga, Pi Maria CT Zuali, and Pu J. Vanlalliana.

Director of Tourism, Pi R. Lalrodingi, thanked everyone involved in making the program a success and officially concluded the District-Wise Tour Itinerary Creation Competition.
