Lunglei HPC Vice Chairman Pu V. Malsawmtluanga Inaugurates YMA Ṭawipui Group Volleyball Tournament

The inauguration of the Volleyball Tournament organized by the Young Mizo Association (YMA) Ṭawipui Group took place today at Ṭawipui North-II field, with Lunglei High Powered Committee (HPC) Vice Chairman and MLA Pu V. Malsawmtluanga serving as the chief guest.

In his address, Chief Guest Pu V. Malsawmtluanga highlighted the importance of sports disciplines in youth development and as a means to instill moral values. He commended the YMA Ṭawipui Group for organizing the volleyball tournament for both men and women, and expressed appreciation for the organizers’ efforts. He emphasized the importance of determination and dedication for success, encouraging the youth and YMA members in attendance to foster resilience, fair play, and cooperation. The YMA Ṭawipui Group also provided a prize of ₹30,000 for the winners.

Lunglei Sub-Headquarters YMA Vice President Pu CMS Dawngliana attended the event as an esteemed guest. He spoke on the significance of physical fitness and sports as tools for national defense, encouraging young people to embrace discipline, maintain fitness, and foster unity and strength for community well-being.

The Ṭawipui Group YMA Inter-Branch Volleyball Tournament ran from November 5 to 7, 2024, at the Ṭawipui North-II field. The tournament was opened by Pu Zothanzuala Hnamte, Secretary of YMA Lunglei Sub-Headquarters. The event saw participation from various branches under the Ṭawipui Group YMA, with ten men’s teams and two women’s teams competing. In the men’s final, Mualcheng ‘S’ Branch emerged as the champions, defeating Thingfal Branch. In the women’s category, Ṭawipui North-II Branch won the championship over Ṭhualṭhu Branch.
