CM Yogi announces 50% fare discount for women on double-decker electric bus tickets

Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Saturday, said that the launch of the state’s first double-decker electric bus service will help reduce traffic problems and is an important step toward environmental protection.

The Chief Minister made the remark while inaugurating Uttar Pradesh’s first double-decker electric bus service prior to the Aakanksha Haat program at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.

He said, “Being electric, this bus service will help reduce pollution. Similar double-decker electric bus services will be launched in other major cities of the state in the near future.”

The Chief Minister flagged off the state’s first double-decker electric bus. He also took a ride with children and learned about the features of the bus.

CM Yogi informed that the Hinduja Group is establishing an electric vehicle plant in the state, with production expected to begin soon. He emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to promote local art and handicrafts in Uttar Pradesh.

He stated that these initiatives are providing artisans with new platforms and abundant employment opportunities.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented a special gift for women passengers during the launch of the double-decker electric bus service. He announced a 50 percent discount on tickets for women traveling on these buses.

His announcement was met with loud applause from the audience. Additionally, he also announced free travel for women on buses operating on the heritage route every Saturday morning.
