83rd Annual Meeting of IRC: Presentations and discussions on road research and quality control

Road construction, research and quality control were discussed through various sessions on the third day of the 83rd annual session of the Indian Road Congress held at the Science College Ground in the capital Raipur.

Today’s technical session saw a meeting of Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and Chief Engineers followed by presentations by experts on ‘Road Research Work done in India’ in Session 13. This was followed by a discussion on the latest road construction work done by State Government PWD, Local Bodies and PSU officials in Session 14.

The second technical session included presentations on research papers published in IRC Journals (parallel session) and a panel discussion on ‘Quality Assurance and Quality Control in Highway Projects’. This was followed by presentations by various departments of the State Government sharing their projects and experiences. The business meeting reviewed the annual work as well as discussed future strategies.
