Fire services will be modernized in the state
Proposal worth more than Rs 397 crore sent to Union Home Ministry
The Urban Development and Housing Department has sent a proposal to the Central Government for expanding and modernizing fire services in the state, as per the instructions of the Union Home Ministry. The department has prepared a proposal of Rs 397 crore 54 lakh under the 15th Finance Commission.
In the proposal sent to the Union Home Ministry, Madhya Pradesh will receive Rs 298 crore 15 lakh as a 75 percent share from the Central government. The state government will sanction a 25 percent share of Rs 99 crore 39 lakh to the department. The department sent this proposal to the Central Government after the approval of the State Executive Committee.
After the action plan is approved, fire services in the state will be modernized. Under this, new fire stations can be constructed in the state, and modern fire brigade vehicles, hydraulic platforms, and equipment for fire control in high-rise buildings can be purchased. Besides, training and capacity building of officers and employees working in fire services will also be done. A provision for preparing GPS and GIS-based modern systems for real-time control over fire accidents in the state has also been kept in the action plan.
