Election Staff Depart with Voting Materials for the Festival of Democracy

District Collector Dr. Raja Dayanidhi Inspects Election Preparedness

Sangli : The festival of democracy will be celebrated in the district on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, during the Maharashtra Assembly General Elections. Voting will take place at a total of 2,482 polling stations across the district’s eight assembly constituencies. Officials and staff assigned to polling stations have departed with voting materials to their designated centers.

The number of polling stations per assembly constituency is as follows:

  • 281-Miraj (SC): 307
  • 282-Sangli: 315
  • 283-Islampur: 290
  • 284-Shirala: 334
  • 285-Palus-Kadegaon: 285
  • 286-Khanapur: 356
  • 287-Tasgaon-Kavathe Mahankal: 308
  • 288-Jat: 287

Transportation for polling officials and staff to the respective centers has been arranged using state transport buses and other vehicles.

Meanwhile, District Collector Dr. Raja Dayanidhi and Superintendent of Police Sandeep Ghuge visited the polling material distribution centers for Shirala and Islampur assembly constituencies. They interacted with polling officials and staff and inspected the preparedness of polling stations. Additionally, they reviewed the material distribution and vote-counting areas. Election Officers Raghunath Pote and Srinivas Arjun, along with Assistant Election Officers Tehsildar Shamala Khot and Sachin Patil, were present during the inspection, along with other officials.

Polling officials and staff play a crucial role in the democratic process. They have been instructed to ensure that the voting process is conducted in a fearless and peaceful environment.

Over 25 Lakh Voters

A total of 25,36,065 voters from the district’s eight assembly constituencies will exercise their right to vote in this election. This includes 12,82,276 male voters, 12,53,639 female voters, and 150 other voters.
