Lucknow University organizes Pink Scooty Rally in collaboration with Lucknow Police

Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh government continues its focus on women’s safety, dignity, and empowerment through various initiatives under the Mission Shakti campaign. In line with this effort, a Pink Scooty Rally was organized on Monday by the girl students of Lucknow University in collaboration with the Lucknow Police.

The rally was flagged off by the Lucknow University Vice-Chancellor Alok Rai and the Mission Shakti Nodal Officer Dr Manini Srivastava from Gate No. 3 of the university on the occasion of the Foundation Day of Mission Shakti Phase-5.

Alok Rai stated that in alignment with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, the rally aimed to raise awareness about women’s safety across the state. Over 250 pink scooters participated, including a large number of girl students and women police officers, showcasing the collective commitment to the cause.

The primary objective of the rally was to raise awareness about women safety across the state. Dr Manini Srivastava, the university’s Mission Shakti Nodal Officer, emphasized that CM Yogi’s Mission Shakti campaign has empowered women in the state, making them feel safer and more confident.

She shared that the rally commenced at 9 AM and concluded at 10:30 AM at the 1090 crossing, passing through Hanuman Setu Temple, Hazratganj Chauraha, Governor House, and Loreto Chauraha.

VC Alok Rai highlighted that the Pink Scooty Rally is an integral part of the Mission Shakti campaign, focusing on promoting women’s safety, dignity, and self-reliance. He also stressed the importance of collective efforts between educational institutions, the police department, and the community for advancing women’s empowerment.

A large number of students, deans, department heads, and faculty members participated in the Mission Shakti Pink Scooty Rally using bikes and cars. Women police officers actively joined the event on pink scooters and SUVs, collectively promoting awareness and strengthening the objectives of Mission Shakti.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Manuka Khanna emphasized the crucial role of academic institutions in spreading awareness about women’s rights and responsibilities. Dr. Manini Srivastava, the university’s Mission Shakti Nodal Officer, highlighted that Lucknow University is extending its efforts beyond the campus, collaborating with the Lucknow Police to amplify the message of Mission Shakti.

She stressed the importance of collective efforts to advance the Mission Shakti movement, adding that this rally is a vital step in that direction.
