Chief Minister Meets With Boeing Foundation Representatives
Aizawl : Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma presided over a meeting today with representatives from the Boeing Foundation and officials from the Mizoram Government. The meeting, held in the CM Conference Hall, focused on the utilization of Boeing’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for the benefit of Mizoram.
Ms. Praveena Yagnambhat, Chief of Staff and CSR Head, Boeing India & South Asia, provided an overview of Boeing’s activities and CSR strategies. She shared that Boeing has made significant advancements in India, particularly in the civil aviation and defense sectors, employing approximately 6,000 people. She highlighted the company’s commitment to CSR, stating that Boeing has supported numerous initiatives, including providing aid to hospitals in Aizawl, Lunglei, and Siaha during the COVID-19 pandemic in partnership with Doctors for You.
Ms. Yagnambhat emphasized Boeing’s interest in increasing its contributions in Mizoram, particularly in healthcare and education. She expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s leadership and support, noting that Boeing looks forward to further collaboration.
During the meeting, discussions included plans for deploying specialized doctors for cancer treatment, upgrading ICU facilities at ZMC (Zoram Medical College), and exploring the feasibility of establishing a dedicated cancer hospital in Mizoram. A visit to the ZMC and other healthcare facilities to assess further support needs was also proposed.
In the field of education, Boeing is collaborating with the Learning Links Foundation to enhance educational outcomes in Mizoram. Updates were provided on ongoing initiatives such as Tinkering Labs and Sukanya STEM Labs. The team also discussed potential new programs to expand opportunities in STEM education and other areas.
The meeting was chaired by Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner & Secretary to the Chief Minister, and attended by Pu Lalthansanga, Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr. Vanlalthlana, Minister for Education, Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, Adviser to the Chief Minister, and other key officials.
