Yogi govt to deploy AIIMS and Army Specialist Doctors for Mahakumbh 2025
Mahakumbh 2025: Doctors to be on duty 24/7, unlimited OPD capacity will be ensured
Prayagraj : In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, preparations are underway at a fast pace to bring the ‘Swasthya Mahakumbh’ plan to reality. Mahakumbh 2025 will see a large-scale deployment of specialist doctors to ensure the health and safety of devotees and saints attending the event.
As part of these efforts, a 100-bed hospital is being set up at the Parade Ground in Prayagraj. Additionally, specialist doctors from AIIMS Raebareli and the Army Hospital will be stationed at the site to provide medical care throughout the festival, further strengthening the health infrastructure for the Mahakumbh’s millions of attendees.
Senior Medical Officer Dr. Gaurav Dubey, overseeing the construction of the 100-bed hospital in the Parade Ground area, stated that all necessary preparations are being made to ensure devotees face no difficulties during the Mahakumbh. About 70% of the hospital is complete, and efforts are ongoing around the clock to finish essential arrangements before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit on December 13. The hospital will operate 24/7 during the Mahakumbh, offering unlimited OPD services to cater to the vast number of visitors.
Separate wards for men, women, and children are being set up, along with specialized facilities like delivery rooms, emergency wards, and doctors’ rooms. Advanced diagnostic services and immediate medicine distribution will be available to ensure seamless healthcare for all attendees.
In addition to the main hospital, eight smaller hospitals with 20 beds each are being prepared for pilgrims. Two ICUs with 10 beds each are being constructed by the Army Hospital in the fairground and Arail area. Meanwhile, a 25-bed hospital in Jhunsi will include a 10-bed ICU, managed by AIIMS Raebareli, to provide round-the-clock care.
With over 45 crore devotees expected to attend the world’s largest cultural gathering, ensuring top-notch medical facilities is a priority for CM Yogi. To this end, specialist doctors are being deployed, and two dedicated hospitals are being established to manage infectious diseases, ensuring health and safety for pilgrims from India and abroad.
