Plan Facilities for Devotees on Mahaparinirvan Diwas: Konkan Divisional Commissioner Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh

Mumbai, Dec. 2: On the occasion of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas, millions of devotees gather at Chaityabhoomi, Dadar, from across the country. To ensure the availability of all necessary facilities for them, all departments must meticulously plan and coordinate, instructed Konkan Divisional Commissioner Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh.

A preparatory review meeting regarding the arrangements for the 68th Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was held at the Planning Hall of the Mumbai City Collectorate.

The meeting was attended by Mumbai City Collector Sanjay Yadav, Konkan Divisional Deputy Commissioner Vivek Gaikwad, General Secretary of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Diwas Coordination Committee Nagasen Kamble, Committee Vice President Mahendra Salve, representatives of various organizations, and senior officials from concerned departments.

Commissioner Dr. Deshmukh stated that arrangements will include control rooms, ambulances, transport systems via BEST and ST buses, CCTV monitoring, health services, drinking water facilities, and meal services. He emphasized that agencies should ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the Chaityabhoomi area and manage traffic efficiently to avoid congestion. Additionally, police security arrangements must be well-planned.

Discussions during the meeting also included emergency arrangements at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Grounds, health facilities, the decoration of the Chaityabhoomi Stupa and its surroundings, and the official homage ceremony for Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
